National Deputy Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Segun Oni on Tuesday linked money bags politicians whose intent, he says is to destabilise Buhari’s government, to the incessant attacks and invasion of villages to kill innocent Nigerians hitherto linked to fulani herdsmen.

The APC Chieftain was however, quick to stressed that  the APC-led Federal Government  has scored pass mark in term of fight against security challenges even as he  stressed that Boko Haram insurgents have been decimated  and that Nigerians should support the security agencies to consolidate on the success achieve so far in ending the activities of the terrorists.

Former Ekiti State governor stated this while speaking to select journalists in his office at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja, yesterday where he also expressed concern over the rising profile of the dastardly act.

Recall that, there have been series of attacks in some villages of Benue, Plateau, Enugu, Nasarawa,  Kaduna, Taraba and other places, which has led to lost of several lives and property worth huge sum of money and in most cases these attacks are  linked to fulani herdsmen, a situation that has heightened tension as well as apprehension  across  the nation.

Oni however maintained that “this, personally worries me because these  gunmen who suddenly  becomes so notorious invading  villages and so on are people that have always been around. But my guess is that many of these are sponsored by people who had so much money and want to create instability.

According to him, ” I believe that  many of these have political motives and people who just wanted to trouble the government of the day, who doesn’t want peace because they believe peace would also not be what they would want to see. It is very very difficult  you will just here one version here today, another striking us there tomorrow like an organised snipers and so on. It is also a way of saying that what we are battling with is not ordinary.

He said “But one thing we can say for sure is that Boko Haram has been mutilated,  I believe the average Nigerian can see that, can feel that and understand that, whatever  is left of it let us encourage the  security agencies to move ahead and move fast and take further control. I don’t think the security situation is as terrible as it used to, no, it is not. Therefore, as far as security is concern, I would say that we have earned the past mark,  but we can do better

Reacting to President Buhari resolved to treat the Niger Delta militants like the Boko Haram he said, “I think is a warning, I think is a warning, you know at times a father would also warn his child don’t cross this line ohoo so that I would not, I would not ehnnn be hard on you. I think is a warning. And that warning let us also see it in good style, let us try and calm nerves down because the President is the president of everybody and it is in his interest and in our own interest  that things must run normal and I believed that  such warning, such body languages and so on would also have a way of encouraging people who genuinely want to see peace to go after it.

On the dwindling fortune of the nation’s economy he explained that “Well, the Public are right to expect that we would do magic, but the right thing is there is no magic way out of the problem on ground for  Nigeria. The economy was trumatized by a government which only agenda was to win another round, therefore, everything that they could put into trying to win a second round even bastardizing the economy were all done and we are all here.

“Now, fortunately for them I would say they are not there any longer. The reality on ground is that if the previous government were in power by now Nigeria would have virtually packed off may be many of us would have been refuge by now.  So is very easy not to remember where we are coming from. Yes, we are elected to do the impossible, we will do our own  best I just want to plead that people should give us more realistic expectation.

“This economy must work, we must get Nigeria back, but it is not as quick as anybody could imagine by touch of a hand. So people are entitled to their expectation, we as a government we will do our best to ensure that the end would justify his course. We are not elected to run Nigeria for one year or two years, we are elected to run Nigeria for four years and before we get to an appreciable length of time I am sure, I am confident that we would begin to see very very obvious changes.

sad

How can Mr Segun Oni say this?

I am tempted to go the tribal way but I won't cos I know that many of my Yoruba brethren will join me in condemning this useless oaf's unguarded and uninformed utterances.

Where was he when Olu Falae was attacked/kidnapped by the same herdsmen? So all his foolish brain could do is tow the same line of throwing blames at imaginary enemies?

Kai!

If our so called leaders could make such utterances like this then I don't think Nigeria is ready to take its rightful place among the comity of nations.

I spit on your slimy face Mr Oni angry

May the herdsmen visit you soon too...

I dey vex!!!
