Arsenal fans decended into full panic mood on
Wednesday night after former West Brom forward
Victor Anichebe tweeted to claim he was on his
way to the Emirates.
The 28-year-old is a free agent after leaving the
Baggies at the end of last season and has been
looking for a new club ever since.
Arsene Wenger was desperate to sign a forward
this season and bagged Lucas Perez on a
£17million deal after missing out on Jamie Vardy
and Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsenal were conspicuously quiet on during
deadline day but Anichebe’s tweet, which appears
to be tongue-in-cheek was enough to send
Gooners into meltdown.
