I honestly don't see anything wrong here. All na encouragement. I remember when in primary school a son of the proprietor popped in once in a while to give us spelling competitions. The overall winner always got a fancy pen as a prize. Thinking back it was no different from our regular pens, only a little more expensive; imagine someone gifting you a 50.00 pen when the average one costs 15.00.
