The SUG Election of the Federal University of Technology Owerri Imo State which was slated to hold today 1st September 2016 has been postponed following the irregularities found in the just concluded SSS Screening Test which was held on Saturday 28th August 2016.

The protest started yesterday 31st August following the release of the screening Results as candidates tagged "Students Choice" were screened out.

According to one of the protesters, she said

" The screening Results has been manipulated and filled with irregularities, election will never hold until we see the real SSS Screening Results"


As at  the time of publishing this post, the protest is ongoing as students match to the Senate house.


Reporting live from the Senate by schoolnewsportal team, students has been addressed "The Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Offor is facing a screening from SSS.

The is because the result released wasnt endorsed by the SSS nd ISEC.

The SSS said that they were misled and screened people out blindly so another internal screening is going on right now by the SSS in all departments.

And all aspirants are back to b screened.

Aspirants with low GP will be shortlisted.

A secured list will be out by 4pm today. Manifesto will hold tomorrow.

Finally all list where given to SSS from the DEAN which is incomplete.

Please  stay calm while justice is being prevailed.

Say no to jungle justice."


Hearing from the state security service (SSS) spokesPerson today at Senate, he said

*" we re aware of some challenges and irregularities going on with SUG elections, and we re going to review everything right from the beginning again, and to that effect a new screening will be conducted today starting from aspirants with qualified CGPA to those who were unjustly marginalised"*

All  concerned students are  urged  to remain calm and vigilant as the process is going on.
