Please Help! Should I Opt For A Nigerian Or A Foreign Hosting Plan. by junnyjake(m): 9:58pm On Sep 02, 2016 |
I've had it in mind for a very long time to start my own blog, done my researches, I'm opting for WordPress. Chose my niche already. But, here is a problem I'm currently facing. With the current situation of things in the country, the dollar exchange rate is on all time high, at last check #425 - $1. This is making me have a rethink about going for a foreign webhost service which was part of my of my original plan. But, the drawback with our Nigerian webhosting is the stories I hear about them. Bloggers getting their website deleted. The speed not as fast as it should be. But I know for sure, that there are some good ones out there and I know bloggers patronize them. I at this moment solicit for your help to suggest to me what I should do, is the price for a foreign service worth it or should I opt for a Nigerian company? Are you currently using a Nigerian hosting plan? Which one of them? How do you rate their services? I need your help please! Mods. Cc: lalasticlala, seun, fynestboi, mynd44 |

Hi there, its a dilemma really: the issues with local providers and our FOREX. But there is a solution. I work for an indigenous IT solutions provider who enjoys partnership with 4 leading hosting providers, meaning you can enjoy a world class and stress-free hosting while dealing in local currency. Win-win for you. Send your needs/enquiry to info@dsolutionsgroup.net, you won't be disappointed. |

Personally I don't use local hosting so I can't really tell how they operate but please make sure you go for a hosting that will give you all the leverages that you can get from a foreign hosting company. Heartbroken Talk to www.amaraofficial.com 2 Likes |

All Nigerian hosting companies are still attached to a Foreign host, none of them have their webserver here in Nigeria. |

I will advise you to host on a foreign plan. Nigerian hosts are unreliable. Their prices look attractive but is anything happens to your website files they will tell you sorry. They have a clause that prevents you from suing them if something awful happens to your website and you can't recover it. This simply means they are not ready for good business. If you think i am joking, search for topics on Nigerian hosts on Nairaland. Goodluck. 1 Like 1 Share |

I have hosted both on foreign and local hosting companies. There's nothing bad with some hosting companies here. My first choice for local hosting is http://qservers.net then this use to be my first choice before the advent of qservers, http://syskay.com. The experience I got from both hosting companies is the same as I got with godaddy.com 99.9% uptime. Presently I am using whogohost.com, have not had much issues with them but I will rate them 90% for now. Thatz my own contribution. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Boycool1: both whogohost and smartweb are trash! I CAN SAY IT MILLION TIMES About three months ago, smartweb started destroying my sites (about ten). i was able to recover about 6 while 4 were gone. I moved to whogohost and up till now no rest. it is one issue or the other. just now i tried i am working on cpanel and admin areas of two sites and at the same time, the two sites logs me out and redirect me to home page. this has been happening for somes weeks. i have a bulk sms site with whogohost, the site could not work for two days successfully before trying another site again. to me foreign host direct is the best 1 Like |
