These are few among the numerous inventions by Nigerian scientists both home and abroad and some of these have been introduced into Nigeria already.
Let me see the list of blood drinking kenyans that can match this

1. Saheed Adepoju

He is the inventor of the INYE-1 & 2, tablet computers designed for the African market.

Bio: Saheed is the Co-founder of Encipher Limited, a Nigerian-based technology company that introduced the first android-powered tablet into Nigeria. The INYE-1, which was unveiled in April 2010 is a 7-inch resistive screen tablet. It runs android 2.1 and allows users to connect to the internet using its inbuilt WIFI card and to use an external 3G modem from GSM networks. It offers about 3 hours of battery life and allows HDMI output to HDMI capable devices.

13.Mohammed Bah Abbah

Although he holds no patent on this invention, he is credited with taking on the challenge of making accessible the “pot-in-pot refrigerator” or “zeer”, a refrigerating device that does not use electricity, to people in rural areas. He is a recipient of the Rolex Award for Enterprise, an award that provided $75,000 which Mohammed used to produce and distribute his invention in 11 northern states in Nigeria.

Bio: Mohammed developed his pot-in-pot refrigerator by combining the knowledge he had gained from his grandmother’s craft of traditional pottery with simple laws of physics. He followed up on the idea by placing food in a small pot, which is then placed in a larger pot. The space between the two is filled with moist sand and a wet cloth cover is used to cover the whole set up. As the water in the moist sand evaporates through the larger pot, it carries heat away from the inner core of the whole set up.
Mohammed holds no patent on this invention because the pot making business is not new. What is novel is the fact that he set up a local production facilities to provide the pot-in-pot for the cost of $2 (N320) for the smaller pot-in-pot refrigerator and $4 (N640) for the bigger versions. The invention allows perishable food to extend their spoilage rate. For example, meat can be stored in it for up to two weeks instead of a few hours.

14. Olu Atanda

He is credited with the co-invention of a self-lubricating layer for a data-storage device and disk and holds the following patents at the USPTO.
*. Self-lubricating layer for data storage devices, United States Patent No. 6,677,105, January 13, 2004.
*. Self-lubricating layer for a data storage disk, United States Patent No. 6,430,114, August 6, 2002.

15. Brino Gilbert

He is credited with the invention of the Counter Collision Gadget (CCG), a device that has the capacity to prevent accidents on the road, air, sea and rail. The invention earned him many awards including a bronze medal in the Aerospace/Aeronautics category at the May 2003 edition of the Invention and New Product Exposition (INPEX) in the United States. He also received a silver medal in the manufacturing category and a trophy for being the best invention from Africa in the continental category

Bio: Gilbert is a Nigerian physicist from Edo State. He spent 10 years seeking government attention for his research and approached several groups and individuals for sponsorship. His vision is to make CCG exportable to many countries of the world.

16. Emeka Nchekwube

He is credited with the co-invention of the following:
*.Hypoestoxides, derivatives and agonists thereof for use as stent-coating agents, U.S. Patent no. 7229979
*.Hypoestoxides, derivatives and agonists thereof for use of antiparasitic agents Patent no. 6242484
*.Terfenadine oral powder, U.S. Patent no. 5455049
*.Solutions of pentamidine, U.S. Patent no. 4,853,416
Bio: Emeka Nchewube is a Nigerian-born Neurosurgeon who currently lives and practices in the United States. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria and earned his Bachelors degree in chemistry from Central Michigan University. He attended Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit where he also finished his Neurosurgery residency. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He is also a member of the San Jose Surgical Society, the American Medical Association, and the California Association of Neurological Surgeons.

don't mind these jealous people!

They keep boasting to us that they have more power supply than we do have not knowing that their little 2000mw goes round the few people connected to the grid more because there aren't many industries.

We talk about our issues, while they don't talk about theirs. That's why they are ok with their govt giving them just 2000mw and distributing that little amount to just a few people in Nairobi and leaving the vast majority out in the dark.

KANO have more industries than Nairobi.
I can prove that too.

As much as it's important to have women in such positions of power, it makes little sense if they are there just as flower girls. That Amina was deputy undersecretary before of the outgoing UN SG. What is it that she did that is worth writing home about?

Okonjo has been associated with world bank for years. Whatever she has been doing there only God Knows. The rest of us have no idea. No policy change initiatives whatsoever. Flower girls!

Kenyan diplomat Amina has on the other hand initiated and negotiated the change of the ICC statute, even pleaded her case before the security counsel at the UN. Two key articles were amended. She has set the African continent on a course of withdrawal from the ICC. SA has already withdrawn. Kenya will follow.

She ran for head of WTO. COMPETED for it and lost - because of its anti African nature of it. She is running for head of AU.

Wangari Maathai was a fighter. She challenged the autocratic govt of the day and initiated court cases against senior government officials that still stand as reference points in areas of environmental rights. She is a Nobel Laureate.

If not that yourself an Muafrika2 are just so ignorant cos i can't believe the imbecilic nature of the people am here with.
Okay, yes, Nigerian women belong to the kitchen but i can bet u guys that it will take Kenyan women another 100 years to attain the positions that Nigerian women have attained.
Show me any Kenyan woman that has been a Key player in world politics like these 2 Nigerian women.

Nigeria's Amina Mohammed is now the Deputy secretary general of the United nations.

Ngozi Okonja Iweala is the first and only black person to ever contest for Presidency of the world bank, she served as the managing director of the world bank for 6 consecutive years and for 5 consecutive times she has been ranked by forbes among the 100 most influential people in the world.

Nigerian women are beauty and brains combined.

will you shut up there already!

Nigeria's music, movies, cuisine and fashion is all over Africa and the caribean, the black world as a whole and there is no denying it!

With Nollywood, Africans have been able to tell their own stories by themselves, a thing we've never done before then. We have exported more literature than Kenya has too. Our writers ate better known than Kenya's, fact!

Before Chinua Achebe came up with his "Things Fall Apart", the story of Africa was told by Europeans who held the opinion that before coming in contact with the white man, Africans had no history, culture and civilization. But Chinua Achebe was able to change all of that by his famous book.

As for the Nollywood you claim to look down upon even though you are watching one right now; with Nollywood, Africans can finally see a thing they can relate to. Several links i gave here confirms it that Kenyans now want to speak like Nigerians, dress like Nigerians etc.

Today, Nigerian music is doing far better than the Jamaican regea, fact! How many people still listen regea today? If Psquare were to come to your country, i am sure you wont get a place at the front because better people would push you back so as to catch a glimpse of the Nigerian sensation.

Nigerian Entertainment Industry is worth more than the GDP of several African countries and i won't be too surprised of it can finance Jamaica's annual budget.

PLS GIVE HONOUR TO WHOM HONOUR IS DUE!
Uhmm, trust me, there are reggae artists who bring Nairobi to a halt,

Burning spear and the like ...

I have NEVER heard Jamaicans claiming dominant in OUR country for that reason. I mean African Americans have a better claim than you people. You guys are just crazy. Tanzanians have a better claim, even the Congolese! lol.

THE NIGERIANIZATION OF KENYA!!!!

Currently, we are all about Nigeria. The
average Kenyan will sooner recognize
Desmond Elliot or Genevieve Nnaji than
they will Oliver Litondo or Lizz
Njagah.Kenyan women strut proudly
wearing gele (a Nigerian head wrap) to
weddings, and are easily mistaken for
Nigerians in international functions.
Statements like Body no be wood and
Everything na double-double are common
nowadays. Because I have had the
opportunity to make tons of Nigerian
friends, I am fluent in Nigerian pidgin. This
is already a form of butchered English, so
to speak, so I cringe when I hear people
butcher it further in an attempt to appear
trendy.
Far be it from our musicians to be left
behind. I have heard phrases such as â
€œthe Nigerianization of Kenyan gospel
music.” People talk about this like it is a
good thing. I wonder if it has crossed
anybody’s mind that while we are
busy Naijanizing, nobody seems to be
Kenyanizing anything because –
especially in the arts – nothing Kenyan
enough has been made fashionable
enough to copy.

i am currently in the North East of Nigeria, yes the same NE where BH is domiciled, in a remote village an still have the electricity to charge my phone and also the 4G 6mb per sec to correct your ignorance on Nairaland.

Meanwhile

Then comes the issue of national pride. If
Nigerians were to group the peoples of
the world in order of superiority they
would place themselves first. Them. The
Americans. Manchester United. In that
order. They have a very healthy self-
image. In music the battle between
Nigeria and Kenya continues to be fought
mainly in the latter. I’m not sure Naija
musicians even know there’s a contest
running, and are a mixture of bemused
and irritated by the prevalence of their
music on our media observed when they
visit. Urban legend recounts a Naija artist
rebuking a Kenyan journalist for
fawningly informing him that he was
more famous than any Kenyan artist in
Kenya. “This would never happen in
Nigeria,” he said. I want to thank him but
I’m not sure that this isn’t a threat.
Where Nigerians are proud, Kenyans are
mild-mannered. Where Nigerians are
loud, we are meek. We suffer silently and
only let our anger come out in large
expressions of violence that shock the
world. If a coup breaks out in most parts
of Africa today it’s greeted by a sigh and a
‘ho-hum’ by the Western world. When one
thousand Kenyans meet their deaths at
the hands of their own countrymen the
world stops. It takes one million
Rwandese to get a similar effect. We are
non-confrontational as a people and the
largely conservative masses led by an
even more conservative elite are happier
to hunker down behind their corporate
desks, more content with the bottom line
than the shaking of bottoms. We pray for
the day we will beat Nigeria at football.
We’re used to losing to them. For the sake
of the Nigerian team we hope that that
victory happens in Kenya. At least we will
grant them asylum. Nigerians are not
used to losing to Kenya. If our victory
happens in Lagos, no one is leaving the
stadium alive.
We are, however, Africans together for
international events. As Kenyans, we held
our breath with them when one of the
preferred candidates to succeed Pope
John Paul II, the Nigerian Cardinal Arinze,
got closer to the prize. But in secret we
thanked God that he wasn’t elected
because we would have never heard the
end of it. For similar reasons, before we
sleep, we raise a prayer of thanksgiving
that Obama has Kenyan and not Nigerian
roots. But this inferiority complex has
plagued us even since the African Writer
Series was founded in 1962- Chinua,
Wole, Cyprian Ekwensi, Elechi Amadi.
Growing up we seemed to be more
aware of them than we were of Ngugi
and Meja Mwangi; Soyinka’s The Lion and
The Jewel getting more runs than
Imbuga’s Betrayal In The City.

A country is comparatively superior to the others if it has

1. Superior culture with a wider reach

2. An economy that affects the economy of the other countries far and wide

and

3. A military that can back up its diplomatic and political power.

Culture:

compared to Kenya, Nigeria not only has an attractive culture in language, fashion, music, literature and life style, Nigeria has exported these things to other parts of the black world and we are already begining to see a so-called Nigerianization of those countries as can be clearly seen in the posts i have posted here.

Because of the power behind our culture soft power projection, we are stiring an identity crisis in countries like Kenya.

Every where you go to in the black world, every one wants to put on our agbada (the Kenyans here even know the names of our fashion even though we know nothing about theirs, making a statement of wider culture reach), they want to tie our gele, want to speak our pidgin english, want to eat fufu, pounded yam and egwusi while listening to Psquare's bank alert.

Economy: Nigeria's economy is not only the largest on the continent, the economy of Lagos, one of the 36 states in the Fed Rep, is worth more than the entire economy of Kenya and per capita, Lagos with its 1025mw of electricity, has 100percent distribution to everyone in the state in every corner of the state therefore, the lagosian has more power consumption than the average Kenyan.

Not only is Nigeria's economy larger than the whole of Kenya's, Nigeria's economy has a direct impact on the economies of neighbouring countries.

Over 90percent of west african manufacturing is done in Nigeria. Nigeria's Lagos port feeds other countries like Niger, Chad and the CAR. When we turn off the taps in Nigeria, there will be no gas supply in the West African gas pipeline running from Nigeria westward through Benin Rep, Togo and up to Ghana. Nigeria's borders are a source for Neighbouring countries to bring in their goods to sell in the largest market on the continent.

Nigeria's banks are all over the west Africa sub reagion, east africa like Kenya, Uganda etc, and also in central africa too.

Nigeria's Dangote group have cement factories in 14 African countries from senegal to Kenya, Ghana, the DRC, Cameroon, Zambia, Ethiopia, etc.

Nigerian eanergy companies explored for oil off the west coast of west africa ad were successful finding oil in senegal. NNPC, the state owned energy company in Nigeria is partnering with Kenya, malawi etc to develop their newly discovered energy.

Nigeria's globacom has tentacles all over Africa too.

Political and Military stength:

Nigeria been the largest concentration of black people anywhere else in the world took upon itself at independence in 1960, an afrocentric foreign policy which is aimed at the complete decolonization and the restoration of Africa's dignity through peace and prosperity of the newly emerging African countries.

This is the reason why shortly after independence when Zaire decended to war, we were the ones who sent down troops there to keep the peace and our top military commander was the commanding officer of that UN Peace Keeping mission. His name: Gen Aguyi Ironsi, the first ever military head of state of nigeria.

When it happened in Seria Leone and Liberia, we and our democratic alies in the ECOWAS sub region took a bold step formed the ECOMOG to enforce peace in both countries and ensure democratic dispensation and a peaceful transfer of power from one leader to the other.

When the military coup happened in Sao tome and Principe, it only took a phone call from Olusegun Obasanjo threatening the coup plotters to vacate power and it did!

In the ECOWAS parliarment, Nigeria hlds 40 seats out of 90 giving us an almost 50 percent of the seats in parliarment. To get a resolution in that house, we only need to persuade a few people to come to our side.

We have a military that is capable of building and advancing its own systems, and has demonstrated time and time again that it could deliver a mission thousands of miles from its borders.

In East Africa, Kenya doesn't have that political and military superiority to its neighbors. Its military is a joke when compared to the ethiopians. The Tanzanians are up there with their new discovery of gas, to compete with Kenya in the economy space.

Kenyanstar:

Yes i did and i noticed that you lie alot, well probably all Nigerians don't have the affinity to be truthful...

1. Nigeria doesn't provide a student loan facility for higher learning
2. The Nigerian government does not provide free education in its entirety
3. The Nigerian goverment doesn't give individual pupil free laptops

http://edugist.org/16-sad-facts-about-nigeria-education-and-why-all-hands-must-be-deck/

16 Sad Facts about Nigeria Education

1. Authorities have limited operating resources & autonomy.

Some local governments receive nothing once teachers’ salaries have been allocated. Improving efficiency requires the decentralization of power along with support from federal and state governments to ensure an adequate flow of resources to the poorest areas.

2. 39% of adults cannot read or write.

This reduces their ability both to participate in the economy and to provide learning support to their children.
Kenya: 7.8((38.5 per cent)) Million Kenyans Lack Minimum Literacy Levels---http://allafrica.com/stories/201409110180.html

3. Conflict in Nigeria has destroyed 28% of schools in one State

Violence concentrated in the North has destroyed many schools and forced many others to close, and in some cases teachers and children have even been attacked. In Borno State, it is estimated that 15,000 children have stopped attending school as a result of the violence.

4. Only 2% of married adolescent girls are in school.

By comparison, 69% of unmarried girls are still in school. Those with a secondary education, on average, get married two years later than those without – which in turn has an impact on maternal health.

5. Nigeria is projected to be the world’s fourth most populous country by 2015.

This rate of population growth translates to about 11,000 babies born everyday. That is 11,000 babies a day who will need schools, materials, and qualified teachers from an already insufficient system.----rubbish source?

6. 34% of girls are out of school in some areas.

In the same rural areas, 25% of boys are out of school – a huge disparity. The disparity is smaller in the South where rural areas have less than 4% of girls and 3% of boys out of school, and in Southern urban areas where the disparity is less than 1%.

7. There are 109 pupils for every satisfactory Nigerian primary school classroom.

This represents a shortfall of 523,346 primary school classrooms – 59.95% of the total needed. At the secondary level there is a shortfall of 170,642 – 67.63% of the total needed. less than 50% of the population are literate
----Kenya is making slow progress towards attaining 50% literacy levels ...Kenya is making slow progress towards attaining 50% literacy levels ...http://www.the-star.co.ke/news/2015/09/17/kenya-is-making-slow-progress-towards-attaining-50-literacy-levels_c1206064
8. No government or agency is clearly accountable for results.

Local Government is responsible for basic education—but does not have budgetary power, which is mostly at the federal level. This creates perverse incentives for the LGAs to keep enrollments down or hire less expensive and therefore unqualified teachers.

9. 40% of primary school teachers are not qualified.

The lack of teachers is particularly acute in the Northwest and Northeast, where only 50% and 53% of teachers are qualified. The Southwest has close to 100% qualified teachers.

10. Only 29% of students who start secondary school graduate on time at 17. source?

If you include up to 24 year olds to capture late starters and repeaters, then this goes up to 75% – but still a quarter of students never finish.

11. Almost half of students who have completed grade 6 cannot read.

In some areas, as many as 72% of grade 6 students cannot read a complete sentence. Clearly there is great need to improve the quality of schooling through improved teacher to pupil ratios, better training and resources. source?

12. About 80% of children do not have textbooks for all subjects. source?

About 60% of primary students do not have a mathematics or English textbook, and materials in languages other than English are scarce. Teachers are lacking books too; in many areas fewer than 15% of teachers have a teacher’s guide.

13. Children under 15 make up 44% – and rising – of the population.

The youth population has placed great pressure on the education system and is partly responsible for the reduced percentage of children in school. Nigeria’s population increases 2.6% each year.

14. There is an average of 49 pupils per primary school teacher.

The recommended ratio is 35 pupils for each teacher. At the secondary level, the ratio was 62:1 in 2009. Classes can be especially large in the North where the average class size is 56 students, almost twice as many as an average classroom in the South.

15. 9 million children have never gone to school.

90% of students are not in school at primary age – around 9 million children have never gone to school at all, which shows how pupils can be totally excluded from the education system if early opportunities are missed.

16. The largest number of out of school children in the world.

In total 10.5 million children – almost half – of primary school aged children are out of school. While in some areas enrolment rates are as high as 99%, overall enrolment rates are dropping, partly due to an increasingly young population.

u are just a big slowpoke
what you guys fail to understand is, Nigeria is like a continent, each states decides on what fits it, they implement and fund their own budgets outside the federal government ,aside that.many of these states in Nigeria have free education from nursery level to secondary level but the issue is, many Nigerians preferred taking their kids to private schools

Stop being an idiot. Industries are supposed to make your life better not worse. If you have more industries then you should be having a better electricity supply.

As usual STATUS OVER SUBSTANCE. You brag about your music, Nollywood, Personality, Influence and everything else that's subjective yet you don't talk of your living standards and things that benefit every ordinary Nigerian. lol

Common dude, whats with the hate words, cant you make your points without name calling, why all the unnecesary insults, you have to be open minded to understand some things about us as a nation, there are many sad things one can be unproud of nigeria, and there are good things to be proud of too,

On eduation, you can check out our universal basic education,it is totally free, all over the federation, apart from this there are myriads and lots of alternatives, ranging from private schools, missionary schools, islamic schools, etc
For the secondary schools,it is based on merit, via a common entrance test, for one to enroll into unity schools, there is about two or more unity schools in the36 states&f.c.t,of which the fees is very low,n affordable to poor and average nigerians, apart from this, there are state schools ,which are hugely subsidised,as govt caters for all the needs, the students are meant to pay megare amount for miscilenous.

On electricity,we told you we currently have the capacity to generate 7,500,mgw,but shortage of gas makes it unrealisable,we also told you private sectors like total, oando, dangote are building gas production facilities, and pipelines network to cater for these needs, many hydro dams are nearing completion, more gas turbines n plants are also,n ipps are been built by industrialist and states, the northern states are also developing solar plants as we speak, nigerians will begin to reap these fruits from q4 2017-2018.

When a Nigerian specifically set up this thread am pretty sure he was speaking from an informed view point and not from pure ignorance like most of you Nigerians who obviously have never set foot outside their village or state. Its even more annoying when we Kenyans are faced with poorly educated Nigerians suffering from effects of epileptic power supply and choking from excess generator fumes. Its soo frustrating being a Nigerian.
1. ICT
The Kenyan goverment has embraced ICT in its operational capacity for the Kenyan people in comparison to which the Nigerian goverment has systematically failed to do. A Kenyan can operate his citizen account at the comfort of his mobile phone 24hrs a day 7 days a week without passing through goverment bureaucracy. Kenyan Citizens and Foreign Residents can now apply for Government to Citizen (G2C) services and pay via mobile money, debit Cards and eCitizen agents.

The difference from Americas hollywood, Indias bollywood, Chinas "Wandahood" and Nigerias Nollywood is the quality and script of content provision that is produced. The poorest production in the group is obviously Nigerian nollywood that is famoulsly known for its poor picture quality, lack of sound effects, epileptic scripting, confused directing, broken story lines, dysfunctional editing and use of indispensable language that does not reflect the diversity in the intended consumers. The fact that subtitles are written in broken English and use of either pidgin english and a mishmash of several dialects that dont augur well with majority movie lovers.

Meanwhile

Then comes the issue of national pride. If
Nigerians were to group the peoples of

would place themselves first. Them. The
Americans. Manchester United. In that
order. They have a very healthy self-
image. In music the battle between
Nigeria and Kenya continues to be fought
mainly in the latter. I’m not sure Naija
musicians even know there’s a contest
running, and are a mixture of bemused

music on our media observed when they
visit. Urban legend recounts a Naija artist

Kenya. Now i know whx kenyans have been fighting tooth and nail here.

Am surprised that most Nigerians always use the same argument of lack of gas, petroleum products to run electricity producing generators on militants, terrorists and saboteurs. While at the same the foreign multi-nationals facing the same problems always end up meeting their production, supply and exportation of the same gas products despite the challenges.
