Kikuyu - on dairy sector - I think there is huge opportunity - because our milk yield is still very low - compared to say South Africa - leave alone the likes of US. The sector can grow 5-10 times - if we keep focusing on improving the breeds, the feeds and the consumption (talking more cheese,butter, ghee, icecreams).

Actually, even in Africa, very few. Maybe one or two in RSA.

rich coming from you. Shell sell oil worth now around 40B dollars - and your import back refined oil worth what - 8B dollars - and food worth 10B dollars or more. I mean you can cook all data about your agriclutural products - but every food exporters - know Nigeria is their big market - for rice, wheat, milk, sugar name it. The only think you don't import is probably yams,cassava and maybe sorghum.

In the next few years Avocado will probably overtake even Dairy and become the main cash crop in Kenya. It's done the same in Mexico - where 20yrs ago it was nowhere.

I'm a big fan of that university.It's currently in position 4/5 in Kenya.In some years to come,it's going to be 1/2 in Kenya if our public varsities don't step up their game a notch higher. Strathmore now wants to invest in Engineering courses and open up a medical school,the future looks bright for them!

They need to relax the dress code though. I was at Nairobi Tech weeks last month or so - and they sent us a dress code - . Yes I think what likes of Nairobi have is their old reputation, course offered (eng & medicine) and ability to take the top students. 90% of all top 100 students will by default choose UON. That is where Strathmore need to get.

University of Nairobi admits 16 out of 20 top KCSE candidates - and they mostly want to study medicine or engineering.
