im not surprised

it is underwhelming as usual
No proper infrastructure
Shma2020:

You posted a single building - a hostel which you think no uni in Kenya can have.

I went ahead and searched for a village uni - I specifically typed male hostel, and boom! This is what I got. I guess you're till in shock right? grin

If you want more infrastructure of chuka campus, here they are.

Which Safaricom got kicked out of DRC.
Nigeria presence in Africa simply restricted to a few Banks, Dangote and Globalcom.
It cannot even get 1/4 of kenya presence.

Kenya is 2nd to South Africa - and it's in almost all sectors.

Even if we go cements smiley - the only thing Dangote has expanded - Kenya cement companies have operations regionally.

Name anything; beer; hotels; etc etc.

It almost a given for a kenya company to have regional expansion plan.

Abohboy:

All this hyping up yet Safaricom just got kicked out of DRC? And Kenya regionally in Africa isn't ahead of Nigeria. Nigeria has companies open in Tanzania, Gabon, Togo, Mozambique etc. And they have a decently large market share we recently built a massive cement plant in Tanzania, Kenya doesn't compare to Nigeria in size of economy, number of businesses and presence of it's businesses across Africa

Nigeria should focus on the basic. Provide Security first. Once you have finished Boko Haram, Kidnapping, Cattle rustlers, Islamic fighters - then you can start to talk about dealing with South East secessionist.

Countries that have sorted such basic - like Kenya or Ghana - can focus on
Good roads
Electricity
Good railways
Running water

Abohboy:

You're honestly not wrong they have the resources and the population to do it without problem but until foreign medlers and bad leaders are gotten rid of the DRC cannot progress but in my opinion I still believe Nigeria will become the strongest and most prosperous black nation in the world with the population we have, the ingenuity, the innovation, the knowledge we can go so far with just the knowledge of our citizens all the government needs to do is provide an enabling system

Good roads
Electricity
Good railways
Running water

With just those the citizens would be able to solve all of Nigeria's problems whether it be manufacturing or housing they'll find a solution if the government gives them a base even with all the bad leadership we've been able to put our country in an amazing position so if and when we get a mediocre or hopefully a good leader then the kind of growth you'd see would be unseen in the history of economic growth

We wont be engaging on this any further

We've seen your universities and they are not a match to even the least developed universities in Ghana....

Maybe. your universities can best be compared to pre- universities or remedial schools in Ghana.

It will continuously be a waste of our precious time.
That's it.

Kenya overtook South Africa to become the biggest investor in other African countries in terms of the number of projects in 2015.

Kenya invested in 36 projects last year in other parts of the continent against South Africa’s 33, a new study by financial consulting firm Ernst & Young shows.

You are citing 2015 data in 2021.

This is 2021 and in terms of FDI outflow to other African countries, Ghana is above your country. Even Togo is above your country.

FDI outflows from Africa fell by two thirds in 2020
to $1.6 billion, from $4.9 billion in 2019. The
highest outflows were from Togo ($931 million).
Investment from that country was largely directed to
other African countries. Outflows from Ghana ($542
million) and Morocco ($492 million) were also
significant, although they dropped by 8% and 45%
respectively compared with 2019.
This is from UNCTAD.

UNCTAD dont know what they are doing. 2021 alone - Safaricom outflow to Ethiopia is worth how much? Kenya companies are behind the private sector of many east african countries - now including Congo.

There are many definition - this is UNCTAD - and clearly they do a poor job collecting data

Foreign direct investment (FDI)
Foreign direct investment (FDI) is investment involving a long-term relationship and lasting interest in and control by a resident entity in one economy in an enterprise resident in another economy. In FDI, the investor exerts significant influence on the management of the enterprise resident in the other economy. The ownership level required in order for a direct investment to exist is 10% of the voting shares. Such investment involves both the initial transaction between the two entities and all subsequent transactions between them and among foreign affiliates, both incorporated and unincorporated. FDI may be undertaken by individuals or by business.

Madcow. That one clearly involve stock investment;

OECD definition
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) flows record the value of cross-border transactions related to direct investment during a given period of time, usually a quarter or a year. Financial flows consist of equity transactions, reinvestment of earnings, and intercompany debt transactions. Outward flows represent transactions that increase the investment that investors in the reporting economy have in enterprises in a foreign economy, such as through purchases of equity or reinvestment of earnings, less any transactions that decrease the investment that investors in the reporting economy have in enterprises in a foreign economy, such as sales of equity or borrowing by the resident investor from the foreign enterprise. Inward flows represent transactions that increase the investment that foreign investors have in enterprises resident in the reporting economy less transactions that decrease the investment of foreign investors in resident enterprises. FDI flows are measured in USD and as a share of GDP. FDI creates stable and long-lasting links between economies.
