The emergence of Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the governorship election in Ondo State has claimed it’s first casualty as the Chairman of the party for Central Senatorial District, Mr Gboyega Adedipe Monday resigned his position.
Adedipe, an ally of the state Chairman, Mr Isaacs Kekemeke sources said, resigned because of the emergence of Akeredolu instead of the endorsed aspirant of the National Leader of the party, Dr Segun Abraham.
The source said Kekemeke was weighting his option of resigning instead of being humiliated from office as the relationship between the Chairman and the candidate ha strained before last Saturday’s governorship primary of the party.
The Publicity Secretary of the party, Omooba Abayomi Adesanya confirmed the development to our correspondent in a telephone chat.
According to him, the former senatorial chairman of the party has returned all the party’s properly in his possession to the party’s secretariat in Akure.
