The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has clarified that the results of its exams are withheld due to examination malpractices in centres, contrary to speculations that it does so to witch-hunt candidates who performs excellently in their exams.

This was made known by the Zonal Coordinator of WAEC in charge of Lagos and Ogun states, Mrs. C.O. Agwu who said that results of candidates who scored zero are canceled if there is any indicting report about the centre.

"It is not about the score, it is about having reports of malpractices at any of our centres", she said

Mrs. Agwu advised students to pay adequate attention to instructions, stressing that candidates lose marks when they don’t pay adequate attention to instructions.
