Nokia and Ericsson still exist. They are no longer the biggest mobile phone makers in the world (they were in the 1990s), but they still make telecommunications equipment for major telecoms service providers. In fact, they are the biggest companies in the world in this segment of the market.

You're right naptu. They sold their mobile unit to microsoft, and they might even be going into Medical Equipment sales.

Thanks.

Ordinary N2m pocket money.
I am sure their Nigerian representative misappropriated it for a weekend in Obudu Ranch or shopping at The Palms.

For the education of people on this thread, mobile phone is a last mile service of the wireless system. Before a mobile phone can work, Base station infrastructures and other important network subsystems must exist. The installation and maintenance of infrastructures and network subsystems is what telecoms companies like Nokia-Alcatel, Ericsson, HuaWei and the rest specialise in. In summary, Mobile phones are not the only components of fully-operational mobile telecommunication systems.
