It is no longer news that INEC has finally postponed the Edo state election by 2 weeks and this came after the body has issued a statement earlier that the election will go on as scheduled. Let look at the implications of this act.

Tension Build-Up: Nigeria elections has always been a do or die affair and with the latest postponement, the tension in the state will reach a fury stage.

Accusation of Rigging: PDP have already released a statement earlier condemning the alleged postponement on the ground that the ruling party is planning to perfect their rigging plan. It will be a very serious ground of litigation after the election.

Lost of Interest: Many Voters in the state will lose their enthusiasm to come out and vote in their candidate and therefore the voting day might witness low turnout of voters.

APC led FG losing their Fledgling Support: If what is going around is true that APC was involved in the postponement, then anyone that gave them the advice might have shot themselves on the leg because the have already losing the small support the might have.

UNIBEN resumption Date Might be affected: Management of Uniben have already shifted resumption date from 3 to 22 Sept because of the election and with the latest postponement, the new school calendar might be affected too.

Allow A Better Logistics for the Election: We all know that no Nigeria government institution is prepared for their work, the postponement might be a blessing as it will allow INEC to put finishing touches to their preparation.

Everything about this present day government oozes incompetency that over flows from the head to the least person.
Postponing the day of the election is not change the outcome but rather will change the doom day.

The President did well to have launched that @ Change Begins with him@. Indeed. Change should begin with his changing from NEPOTIC appointments to appointment of EXPERTS who can steer the ships of INEC and the economy to safety and successful conclusions.

Oshiomhole and APC are scared of losing the election, that's one of the reasons for the postponement of the election.

The postponement will enable Oshiomhole and APC to perfect their rigging strategies.

That's all.

I don't care about all you wrote here. What worries me more about the implication of the postponed election is a sign that INEC is not "independent" after all. They were threatened by the Police and DSS not to go ahead with the elections. Any sane Nigerian who don't know what this means should visit the psychiatric.
