Three months after the military in­vaded his house, the father of embattled ex-militant leader, High Chief Govern­ment Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, Chief Osen Ekpemupolo, is dead.
The 84-year-old Tun­teriwei of Gbarama­tu Kingdom died on Wednesday morning in Warri, Delta State.
A family source told our correspondents that Tompolo’s father died yesterday at a popular Lily Clinic, after months of battling injuries sustained from the alleged military invasion.
Tompolo’s spokes­man, Paul Bebenimibo, confirmed the demise, saying that the 84-year- old died as a result of injuries sustained during the military expeditions into his community in Gbaramatu kingdom re­cently.
It was gathered that his health situation had been compounded by the rough experience he was subjected to during the military expedition as he was being moved from one place to an­other.
