DOWN THE MEMORY LANE. The late Senior Advocate of the Masses, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, boarding The Black Maria to prison. Gani went to jail 35 times for opposing dictatorship, abuse of human rights and disrespect for the rule of law. He broke record as the most frequently incarcerated prisoner of conscience, but he was unbowed to the end. Monday September 5, 2016 was the 8th anniversary of the death of Gani Fawehinmi. He died on Friday September 5, 2009 after a battle with lung cancer. May his soul rest in peace!
