Shoved out of public citadels,
Dilapidating towers of learning
By rogue officials
And recalcitrant teachers
Whose children learn
In private comfort,
They march to streets
Poking packets of impure water for sale
Onto palms of passersby.
For leisure
They inhale opium
And admire prostitutes
In skimpy attires
On dark street corners
Selling virus of death.
Our children
May dance again
On arena of thuggery
In return for stipends
From agbada pockets.
Even after learning,
They wallow in hunger
And anger.
Boko is now haram.
