An electrician, identified as Ochuko, has allegedly killed his wife’s lover on Emebiren Street, in the Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the incident occurred on Saturday at the residence of the lover, identified as Robinson Otuke.

Residents of the area told our correspondent that the electrician’s wife, Rose, had been having an affair with the deceased for a long time.



It was gathered that after a disagreement between Rose and her husband, she moved into Otuke’s house.

Otuke, who lived a stone’s throw away from the couple’s residence, was reportedly challenged by Ochuko, which led to an exchange of words between them.

During the argument, the electrician allegedly brought out a knife from his pocket and stabbed the victim in the neck, killing him in the process.

However, another account had it that the suspect had recalled his wife after separating from her following reports of her sexual escapade with men in the area.

“When Rose returned, her husband asked her to take him to the home of her lover where serious fracas ensued, which led to the stabbing of Otuke. Ochuko immediately took to his heels and fled to an unknown destination,” a resident said.

It was gathered that the deceased’s relatives mobilised to the suspect’s house and burnt all his property.

Rose was, however, arrested by policemen from Ogborikoko Police Station in the Uvwie council area of the state.

The spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Celestina Kalu, confirmed the incident.

She said, “The suspect’s wife is in police custody and investigation is ongoing.”
