The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Urban and Regional Planning, Rep. Olatoye Temitope Sugar, has urged wealthy Nigerians to partner with the government, at all levels, to ameliorate sufferings of the masses.

He advised wealthy people to empower the indigent and provide gainful employment to unemployed citizens.

Sugar (APC, Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, of Oyo State), made the appeal while addressing some traditional rulers in Ibarapa area of the state during the commissioning of the Ibarapa office of the Olatoye Sugar Foundation (OSF).

While reiterating the need for rich Nigerians to start giving back to the society, the lawmaker remarked that “with the current economic realities, it is obvious that governments alone cannot put smiles on the faces of millions of Nigerians.”

Is that even possible cuz here in Nigeria the rich get richer and the poor get ... well we know how it goes .

I think he meant another Nigeria. Let me check my Atlas.

Some people were destined to stay poor in life. Even if all the rich people in Nigeria sign up to his idea poor people would still remain Nigeria's majority. It's how the cookie crumbles; just one of those things one can't explain.
