What are the lost books of the Bible? Are there any books missing from the Bible? Were some books removed from the Bible?

They are the ones which those who are lost insist should be in the Bible because they , being lost, know nothing about how the Spirit inspires.

There is no such thing as lost books of the bible. The Bible is complete and whole.

One of the most intriguing writings to be lost to the bible is known as “Secret Mark”, supposedly composed by the evangelist Mark as a more spiritually advanced or expanded version of his initial gospel and intended to encourage the attainment of Gnosis. It is known only by its references in the letter attributed to Clement of Alexandria, the so-called and seriously disputed Mar-Saba letter, discovered in 1958 by a graduate student cataloging a manuscript collection of the Mar Saba monastery in Jerusalem.

We have the following intriguing excerpt from the letter;

"Mark went  to Alexandria, bringing both his knowledge and the things he remembered hearing from Peter. From what he brought, he supplemented his first book with the appropriate items about knowledge for those who are making progress. He arranged a more spiritual gospel for the use of those being perfected. Nevertheless, he did not reveal the things which are not to be discussed. He did not write out the hierophantic instruction of the Lord, but added other deeds to the ones he had already written. Then, he added certain sayings, the interpretation of which he knew would initiate the hearers into the innermost sanctuary of the truth which has been hidden seven times.."

And the following …….

"immediately a great sound was heard from the tomb, and Jesus, going toward it rolled away the stone from the entrance to the tomb. And going in immediately where  the young man was, he stretched out a hand and raised him up, holding his hand. Then, the man looked at him and loved him and he began to call him to his side, that he might be with him. And going from the tomb, they went to the house of the young man. For he was rich. And after six days, Jesus instructed him. And when it was late, the young man went to him. He had put a linen around his naked body, and he remained with him through that night. For Jesus taught him the mystery of the kingdom of God. After he got up from there,  he turned to the region of the Jordan." And after these things, this follows:  "James and John go to him," and that whole section.  But the "naked man with naked man" and the other things you wrote about are not found..."

Clement of Alexandria concurs with the spiritual teaching but disputes the statement of "naked man with naked man" as a falsification of the Carpocratians.

You do not believe the books we have in the Bible but you believe the books that are believed to be 'lost.' undecided Read what Scholar8200 said about your likes.

If God "couldn't" stop some of his words from getting lost, you certainly won't be able to find it.

Go and read your bible in peace and try to obey all therein (before go and read something that will summon something).--__--

You couldn't infer?

Ok..my bible tells me the world will pass away before even the smallest bit of the bible gets lost, from this i believe no book in the bible is missing.

If you go in this search how can ascertain the authenticity of whatever you find?

Someone might even tell you he has the "real" bible, careful guy.

You asked a question and I said many books were that taken out and I have them. They were taken out because they didn't fit the message the editors intended to pass across. Nothing to do with weather they were true or not. After all they were stories

Question: "What are the lost books of the Bible?"

Answer: There are no "lost books" of the Bible, or books that were taken out of the Bible, or books missing from the Bible. Every book that God intended to be in the Bible is in the Bible. There are many legends and rumours of lost books of the Bible, but the books were not, in fact, lost. Rather, they were rejected. There are literally hundreds of religious books that were written in the same time period as the books of the Bible. Some of these books contain true accounts of things that actually occurred (1 Maccabees, for example). Others contain some good spiritual teaching (the Wisdom of Solomon, for example). However, these books are not inspired by God. If we read any of these books, such as the Apocryphal ones mentioned above, we have to treat them as fallible religious/historical books, not as the inspired, inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The gospel of Thomas, for example, was a forgery written in the 3rd or 4th century A.D., claiming to have been written by the apostle Thomas. It was not written by Thomas. The early Christians almost universally rejected the gospel of Thomas as heretical. It contains many false and heretical things that Jesus supposedly said and did. None of it (or at best very little of it) is true. The gospel of Barnabas was not written by the biblical Barnabas, but by an imposter. The same can be said of the gospel of Philip, the apocalypse of Peter, etc. All of these books, and the many others like them, are pseudepigraphal, essentially meaning "ascribed to a false author."

There is one God. The Bible has one Creator. It is one book. It has one plan of grace, recorded from initiation, through execution, to consummation. From predestination to glorification, the Bible is the story of God redeeming His chosen people for the praise of His glory. As God's redemptive purposes and plan unfold in Scripture, the recurring themes constantly emphasised are the character of God, the judgment for sin and disobedience, the blessing for faith and obedience, the Lord and Saviour and His sacrifice for sin, and the coming kingdom and glory. It is God's intention that we know and understand these themes because our lives and eternal destinies depend upon them. It is therefore unthinkable that God would allow some of this vital information to be "lost" in any way. The Bible is complete, in order that we who read and understand it might also be "complete, and equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
