beejaay: Saudi Arabia saved $724 billion dollars during the oil boom while Nigeria squandered its earnings. The Saudis do not import petroleum products while Nigeria does. The Saudis produce 10.7 million barrels of oil a day with a 30 million population while Nigeria produces far less oil with a population that is six times higher. Nigeria had $62 billion dollars in savings in 2008 and spent $20 billion dollars to shield the economy from the global economic crisis of 2008. That's why we didn't experience an economic crisis |
