He truly gave his youth to the nation. He and other officers risked their lives defending the unity of Nigeria. It is quite understandable why he told the youth corps members from the East to forget about Biafra. But as one of those who took active part in the war, he should desist from actions and utterances that make people from that part nostalgic for the defunct country. He should also etch his name on every heart by restructuring the country to allow for an enduring peace in Nigeria. Nigeria will continue to be haunted by the spectre of civil war as long as injustice remains.
He cannot afford to lose what he fought for. He must not lose any part of the country for which he stood for. The centra point of his utterances has always been to keep the nation as one entity.
The truth has spoken!

Respect the Bayajidda of Daura. The slayer of Boko Haram. The nightmare of Shi'a, Militant and Biafra Agitators. The man who bring budget padding to an end. The man of international respect. The incorruptible number one citizen of our great nation Nigeria. He who wish you death, you shall attend his burial ceremony

See his résumé Abeg. Only killings and intimidation. He can't achieve anything constructive. Only destructive

Great soldier. One of the great men like Obasanjo, Adekunle, Danjuma, Murtala and Gowon whose action brought Biafra to its knees.
It is because of these men that you find Igbo men everywhere in Nigeria, eking a living for themselves and their families. They even inter marry and buy properties in Africa's greatest nation

Nonsense.

What sort of Head of State would be creating states in the midst of widespread killings of easterners in the north?

As at that time, law and order had broken down and Gowon himself knew he was no longer in control of the east.
