3months libor is 0.8. , so d rate is 0.8 + 4.75( as agreed by both parties). as u said double digit lending we currently have is pure nonsense
Oh i see.

Wonder when we would get to see statistics again at a single digit in Nigeria.

One quick question...

What if Guinness Nigeria did not have a parent body?
It would be heading for the exit doors by now.

Is Nigeria climate and land good enough to grow those crops? How safe are the crops with the way cattle is eating farmers crops and when they complain they will be killed by fulani herdsmen and the president is keeping silence about it?

If the loss is after 30 years, it then implies that the last loss was between 1984 and 1986.

Not every farmland in Nigeria is being trampled upon, so let us not be pessimistic because if it were so no foodstuff would be found in the market. It terms of climate there is more to Nigeria that you probably don't know! List out crops and l will let you know where it can be grown!

The reason for dollar shortage is as a result of restrictions of dollar to manufacturers to source raw materials abroad which are not available in the country and not as a result of slump in crude oil price.

you must be a learner, don't you know that crude oil export is our main earnings in dollars in international markets. Since the price slumped the dollars earnings/saving of the country falls. And our economy is import driven meaning all we do is dollar related, from fuel importing, medical trips abroad, importation of sugar, rice, wheat, clothes, payment of schools fee abroad all on this dollar in foreign reserves. Now the dollar is not enough to go around to service our previous lifestyle of importation of many decades. That is why restrictions is placed on some supposedly secondary needs to the country so that more needs like fuel import, pharmaceutical drugs can come in. Its just a case of government priorities for now.

For smart firms who can persevere, this is the time to source locally and put less pressures on the dollar as their on contributions to help the country out. I don't envy the president at all because no government can perform any magic, or can you spend what you don't have? Finally I think Nigerians should be schooled on how our own economy works so that people can understand the fundamentals and not cry blue murder always with some unpatriotic comments and unnecessary bashings.

The people at the top are doofüs. Guinness Nigeria is responsible for its own predicament not Nigeria. NB and International Brewery are doing fine so what stops Guinness?

They need change of management. The need intelligent people at the top.

there was just no better time for the recession to occur. this is what will make the nigerian leaders to sit up n look for ways to diversify the economy rather than relying on oil. if there was no recession n no nda, nigeria will still be relying heavily on oil and one day, the demand for nigeria's oil might will drop drastically.

Abeg Guinness top management killed its sales volume in Nigeria.

Is Sabmillers and Nigeria Breweries complaining?

Insiders know the truth biko
What would really be sad is to watch AB InBev who has never been in this part of the world enter the country next month to take over the reins of SABMiller and then end up taking Guinness market share because Guinness management did not prepare for the pending change.

AB InBev has more money than Nigerian Breweries and Guinness combined and we should expect fierce competition in the beer space. Nigerian Breweries has been preparing for this but not Guinness. The game is about to change.

That improves the local economy of the state. Should some in Anambra state go into massive cultivation of cabbage, lets say someone plants a 50g pack of hybrid seeds of cabbage that will yields about 12,000 heads of cabbage weighing about 4kg each. The traders of cabbage will not need to depend on bringing in cabbage from the north and the local farmer will end up after the sales, with a fat wallet!

They acquired SABMiller last year and the deal closes on October 10, 2016. So they will be taking over the assets of SABMiller worldwide, including Nigeria on 11 October. SABMiller has four existing breweries in Nigeria - Pabod Breweries in Portharcourt, Intafact Beverages in Onitsha, International Breweries in Ilesha and a brewery in Ibadan.

There are many companies in Nigeria that do not have foreign parent body but are pushing through and are now making use of local substitutes only importing what is not locally available!

That did not answer my question.

Besides, Guinness Nigeria was also using local materials...until thus news

Other firms should follow suit and stop laying off staff, or suspend operations, since they enjoyed profit in our time of boom, they need to stick around and help pull us out of this mud. Once we bounce back, the profits will come pouring again.
Haven't you read the sentence where they stated that they will cut 310 staff at the last quarter of the year?

my friend nobody is arguing with you on the sales of crude, but the price its sold is the issue here. It was sold above $130 last five years but know hovering around $40 so do the mathematics.
