This data is not a surprise to any reasonable person-excluding the Hausas and their British masters-that the rich grassy-land of Southern Nigeria is much more populated that the dry and arid-desert of Northern Nigeria. For those of you doubting Thomases out there, go on Google Earth and see how lush and greenery the southern part is compared to the dry and desolate northern Nigeria. The evil British empire knew that as well but had to forge the census data to favor the north as that's the only way they could stay in control of the new nation, Nigeria. This wicked and evil empire is the root cause of all the problems around the globe including Africa, Asia, Middle East, South America and Central America. But having said that, the onus is on the southern states to rewrite all these lies by conducting their own state census starting at the local government level. This can be done by each state governor dolling out long notebooks with several hundred pages to local government heads (chairmen), who in-turn would pass them out to the chiefs in their localities. It is safe to assume that these chiefs are in a better position to provide accurate records of the people of their communities. They would be given the task to record1) all the adults and children in the community that are living; (2) deaths in the community within that allotted period and (3) all new births. With these census records in hand, they would be able to dispute and challenge at the UN whatever forged census data the British Government of Nigeria has used for decades to lie, cheat and marginalize the southern states. At the worst, this exercise would force the government to conduct a REAL census. And the southern states would demand that it be monitored by the international community excluding the evil British government since they have a vested interest in the outcome of this process.
