Starting with leadership by example on local consumption.
Unfortunately the man who led us into recession is not showing such leadership.
HYPOCRITICAL leadership (Do as I SAY, not as I do) does no one any good.

This does not make sense to me because the price of oil in the market has increased so much.

Demand is greater than supply!

So the product available will go to the highest bidder!

ds s d best opportunity for easterners to prove their worth what dey can produce in ds country without any importation. give it good branding and move t lagos. alas! the hatred they got for Government especially, for Buhari wudnt allow dem to see more good in d recession than d lost election. innovative igbos wud produce his own good here in nigeria another importer and exporter igbos wil flood d market wt d same product made in nigeria by another igbo man. who s killing who? at d end dey wil b blaming other tribes for their failure. #beresponsibleforurfailure

This is what we want, less dependence on foreign products and more locally based production.

Tell that to the political class who pay billions of dollars to import refined crude oil. This is actually what is eating up our forex

During Buhari's first coming as a military dictator was he not SUBSIDISING the imports of:

- vegetable oil (bleached palm oil)
- rice
- milk
- sugar
- tyres

through the Nigeria National Supply Company, NNSC as Essential Commodities aka Essenco
This resulted in the death of farms and factories with high UNEMPLOYMENT.
Government does not need to subsidise CONSUMPTION. It is very counter productive.

We have 14 plots of palm oil plantation land of just 3 years old for sale here in Imo State. Price is 2 million naira. You can buy and lease out immediately to harvesters or outrightly manage yourself. Its very cheap and geniune and would likely be bought very soon! I created a thread for it in the property section, you can also click on my handle for more details.

I plan to invest over N1.5 million naira next year in palm oil. I could only invest N190k this year instead of initial plan to invest N500k due to unforseen circumstances. My profit as at today stands at N140k. Not bad but with time, it could be more because we're not yet in December.

None of the two points you raised. We were complementing our demand/consumption with imports before. Now, no more importation, we need to plant more palm trees.

So we should go hungry or the living standard of Nigerians should reduce to the lowest level. That policy cannot come from a wise person.

Senator Shehu Sani has described those calling for the sale of some of Nigeria's national assets such as NLNG as economic parasites and predators who want to profit from the current economic recession. On his social media handle, Sani wrote

"The call for the sale of our National assets and investment is condemnable. The proponents are economic predators and parasites who wants to profit from the recession. Nigerians must resist and rise up against this heists and roguery.
They don't want to buy Ajaokuta steel company because it's not profitable;they don't want to invest in solid minerals,Agriculture or science and technology, they don't want to invest in the exploration of oil in Chad basin or Benue trough ;They want to buy NLNG and NNPC".
are they already not controlling the nnpc and looting anyhow
