A 200-level student of the University of Lagos has launched a book delivery service, named Streem.

Tejumade Adeyinka, student of the department of economics, explained that she was inspired to set up the service when she saw the need to resolve the challenges encountered by parents in getting their children textbooks.

According to Adeyinka, the service was launched to help meet the needs of busy parents and professionals who prefer home deliveries of books.

Adeyinka was further motivated by the stress her mother went through to get her books while she was in secondary school.

“When I was in secondary school, I was usually given a list of books to be used at the beginning of a new session and my mom would pass through a lot to purchase these books from several bookstores”, she explained.

Looking back on those days and recognising the fact that there is hardly ‘a stay-at-home mom or dad’ anymore, Adeyinka saw the need to present an easy book purchase means for parents and their children.

Explaining how the service works, Adeyinka said “customers are expected to send a message to streemng@gmail.com with a list of books they would like to buy. After, we would send an invoice based on the price list that we currently have.
