It's the trim/style type and they're usually more costly than the normal trim.
LE- limited edition,
Xle- Xtra edition.
SE- sport edition etc.

XLE means Extra Luxury Edition
CE means Compact Edition

This is known as 'trim levels' & the meaning varies from one brand/model to another.
In Toyota sienna/camry for instance;
CE: classic edition
LE: luxury edition
XLE: extra-luxury edition
Note: The Ce's are the lowest trim models & are relatively cheap,unlike the XLE's that are the highest trim level models that are most expensive.
The XLE's usually come with default alloyed rims,leather upholstery,& other extra-luxury features,unlike the classics that come with normal tires with wheel covers & cloth seats.
However,all models of avalon come with the tag "XLS" which is extra luxury sedan,except some of the recent models anyway,that are either TOURING or LIMITED.
They also have the SE which is Sport edition.

Now in another car like the Land Lover,esp on their Range Rovers, they have the SE & the HSE. Here the SE stands for Standard Edition,while the HSE stands for High Specification Edition. You see the difference?
