one good outcome the new tax policy would be no one would give you 1k at election eve when you pay 3k as yearly tax. it never was in strongly in place before thus peeps did not scrutinise govt spendings. once it is enforced govt would have to sit up.

Yes, broadly speaking. The exceptions allowed are on grounds of 'national security interest' and 'health hazards'. You can read up on World Trade Organisation.

True talk, some body should remind OBJ of that. Obj should be prosecuted for giving our national asset (Bakassi Peninsular)to Cameroon even when the decision of ICJ is not binding on Nigeria

The governors had a point then because it didn't make sense to have such money and go about borrowing at high interest rates. My anger is when the same governors who are now in APC open their diarrhoea mouth and be blaming the previous government for not saving for the raining day. They think we have shallow memory like them. The former government didn't do well but there were some positives which folks should be bold enough to accept.

As for OBJ I have nothing to say to you yet. Kwantinu

OBJ's claim is actually true. He introduced Excess Crude Account to save for the raining day but the governors spearheaded by their former chairman now the Senate president would hear none of it. They even threatened to take OBJ to court that the account is not constitutional that oil proceeds must be shared along the three arms of government.

OBJ and NOI had to back down about three times because truly the constitution does not provide for savings.

i have been saying this for a long time but some Nigerians are so dumb... The problem your country have been facing has been from the political elites especially those in APC now because they are just party rebranded...
Rotimi Amaechi and his other colleagues in his reign as governors forum chairman even sued the Fed to court because of the money meant to be for raining days i.e the ECA...
Can AMaechi acount for the money he got from the share because Rivers State was the 2nd after Akwa Ibom.
Nigerian was in a mess like this 2008 but the Technocrat, NOI with the then president made Nigerians not feeling the recession then because Baba was more might active than rule of law so the governors had no say that was why he did save well... There's a very big loophole in your so called country's constitution that the rule of law is being manipulated by the Elites.
So now, they, the real criminals are saints because they are in the ruling party, i pity you, gullibles because depression is the destination from all tracks and path seen policy and economic-wise.
Ciao
