Blackberry today Announcing its Q2 Fiscal 2017 financials today (which is actually poor) revealed that it has ended its in-house hardware development, and will outsource to third party partners instead. To be clear here, BlackBerry hasn’t announced the end of the BlackBerry brand in the mobile phone market — it is merely ceasing to make the devices in-house. Similar to what Google does with the Nexus devices. John Chen, Blackberry’s CEO Said "The company plans to end all internal hardware development and will outsource that function to partners. This allows us to reduce capital requirements and enhance return on invested capital" Now the intend to focus more on Software development. source: http://www.techhousengr.com/single-post/2016/09/28/Blackberry-Officially-stops-making-mobile-phones-In-House |
