I wanted to invest 1 million naira, of which my bank promised an interest of 10% every 90 days( 3 months). that is 40% in a year, but i will need an advise from nlanders on wether to invest this money in the stock market or rather settle for my bank's 40% per year. pls your advice here is highly appreciated.

I will advice fixing it till the stock market is back on track, or at least till it is at the rock bottom, so that you can get more for the price u paying.

make no mistake in believing that you will be paid 10% in 90 days, the 10% is the % u will be paid per annum, so if the bank decides to give u 10 , then it means practically u will be paid 0.83% per month i.e 10 divided by 12. So for 90 days which is 3 months u will get 2.5%

But you should know there is no fixed % a bank gives, it all depends on the amount and the power of your negotiating skills, but usually the range is 12-18% p.a, if u can negotiate for 18%, that will be paid 1.5% per month, which practically means 15,000 per month.

Well said. That is why most people dont keep their money in fixed accounts except if the money is really huge. If it is stocks, should be looking at long term.
