Go To Tribunal, Stop Unnecessary Protest, Group Tells Ize- Iyamu by zukky79: 6:30am On Oct 08, 2016
Coalition for Good Governance and Economic Justice in Africa, has told the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded governorship election in the state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to take his case to the Governorship election tribunal rather than hiring innocent youths of the state to protest on the streets of Benin.

The group in a statement signed by Mr. Amos Cole, the publicity secretary, admonished youths to focus on their future by embracing the agricultural policies of the in-coming administration than allowing themselves to be used as instruments of destruction in an election that is widely adjudged as free, fair and credible.

The statement added that the recent pictures that went viral wherein children below the ages of 10 were sighted holding placard purportedly protesting against INEC amounts to child abuse which violates the child rights law of Nigeria 2004. “All those responsible for that crime should be arrested by the Nigerian police”.

According to the group, “as we speak, many local and foreign investors have lined up to embrace the economic plan of the Governor Elect which will create thousands of jobs for the people of Edo state and therefore any attempt by anybody or group to sabotage such efforts under the guise of street protest should be discouraged by all means.

It's obvious ize iyamu is trying hard to destabilize edo state and make it ungovernable. He should follow the example of GEJ and congratulate the winner instead of all these fruitless protest. I hope people won't call buhari a dictator when he sends Dss after iyamu due to his stubbornness

Is this the type of elections that was conducted during gej regime?

Are satisfy with outcome of the election, speak with your conscience and tell me how we will continue in this direction. By Tue way we all know presently going to the tribunal is a wast s of time and resources.

Ize Iyamu is just trying to disturb the peace of the state. He knows nothing can be achieved through that protest but through judicial means, yet he partook in it. It's a shame that such person wants to become the chief executive officer of the state.
If he's truly sure he's been rigged out of victory, let him go to the court and reclaim his mandate.

Fake pastor.

This man "Pastor" ize iyamu should go and pray to God to forgive him 4 selling his soul to Ogboni fraternity, Anenih and Igbinedion in order to acquire power so as to steal edo state money.

A man who was rusticated for 2 years as a law student in University of Benin for cultism.

A man who have not done any decent Job in his life. All he has been is a political thug and PA to igbinedion.

A man who said he will make igbinedion yearly birthday celebration an Edo State sponsored event.

If he thinks Edo people are stupid he should go and think again.

They should change his name from Pastor Ize Iyamu to Cultist Ize iyamu.

Rivers, Delta, Ekitigate, thank you.

Oshiomohle went to the tribunal why don't Ize Iyamu go? The tribunal have done well in reclaiming some stolen mandates over the years.

History always repeats itself because people don't learn from it. No wonder Tinubu has even advocated that this very important subject should be reintroduced into school curriculum.
Let us go down to memory lane as in recent as 2007. Adams Oshiomole was a very popular Nigerian due to his labour activities. He was darling of the common man. I mean he was loved by all. Believe me he was more popular than the president then-Obasanjo.
If he had enough money he could contest for the president of the country. People believed he would win. And till this day since he left active labour activism that body has never been as vibrant as it was when Oshiomole led it.
Against people's expectations, Oshiomole opted to contest for (as little as) Edo governorship seat. People thought this was too little for him. They said he had belittled himself. To be candid they wanted him to gun for the presidency. He would win in a free and fair contest. To the people he was a sincere man. He would care for them.At this juncture you will agree to forgive me on why I said as little as Edo governorship seat. With this decision, people believed that he stooped to conquer. It would be a simple walkover.
Lo and behold! The election came with PDP candidate in the person of Prof. Osunbor been declared the winner. The collective opinions of people then were in disagreement with the outcome of the election. People believed Oshiomole won the election even the PDP's presidential candidate in the person of Y'Aradua (a Fulani man) was a member of this school of thought.
Oshiomole was to later confess that it was the president (Y'Aradua PDP) who advised him to go to court to fight for his mandate and not only that also gave him all financial support he needed. Oshiomole went to court as was advised and the court restored his stolen mandate.
Today Edo State has found itself in similar condition with same Oshiomole at the centre of the stage with another Fulani president in the person of Buhari. Would Buhari live above board like Y'Aradua to call a spade a spade? Will Pastor Iziamu get fair hearing from the court like Oshiomole did?
History might be about repeating itself. This is my advice to Edo people and PDP- PST Iziamu should go to court. History is about repeating itself.

He has no good case to present at the tribunal hence, the resort to causing public nuisance all over the state in the name of protest. A serious aggrieved candidate will be collating evidence for the tribunal and not engaging in frivolous protest.

Anyway, the right to protest is a constitutional right. He can continue protesting till 2020 while Obaseki rules the state till then. He should just ensure that his protest doesn't lead to the breakdown of law and order.

I was in support of Iyamu but it's time to put this to rest since you're representing 'a man of God'.
The statement added that the recent pictures that went viral wherein children below the ages of 10 were sighted holding placard purportedly protesting against INEC amounts to child abuse which violates the child rights law of Nigeria 2004. “All those responsible for that crime should be arrested by the Nigerian police”.
How can something like this be said about a pastor? All because of power? I believe God is against this.

Ize Iyamu should stop disgracing himself and go to court or better still leave the matter to God especially as a Pastor except He doesn't believe in the God he serves.
You don't use all your strength to fight for power as a Pastor, you don't even take people to court over power positions as a Pastor, except God is not the one you're living for.

IF Iyamu still wants to continue in this, he should denounce himself as a Pastor, especially as a man of God. And he should stop teaching our youths and children to put selfish power first before the country.

where were you when Ekiti had their election, where on the eve of it, many chieftain of Apc were given home arrest and some governors and notable leaders of the party were prevented from attending the last mega rally in support of Kayode Fayemi. If not the honourable minister of solid minerals was a gentleman cos you know during the round up of Osun election where Aregbesola reign and the open threat to the life of anybody who misbehave. Dat was why there were Gej and his band couldn't rig there. All that was happening becos of Gej relection and knowing fully were the south westerner who supported him in 2011 are not long in support of him again. So if you don't know history of some things to stay, is advisable to keep quiet.

Then let him protest alone. I'm more concerned about the title he holds as a Pastor. He should take it to God and be still while He waits for Him. You don't fight for power the way the world fights for it especially as a Pastor. We're talking about desire for power here. If God wants him to win, God will do the fight and Ize won't struggle for it.

don't preempt tribunal and court judgements. fruitless protests are the least the man needs for now. gather your evidence and head to the courts or stop disturbing people. numerous elections have been upturned or upheld base on the strength of evidence provided.
