Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has signed a contract extension until the summer of 2024.

Tuchel, 47, signed an initial 18-month deal when he replaced Frank Lampard as Blues boss in January.

He led the club to victory in the Champions League final and a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League.

"There is far more to come and we are looking forward to our next steps with ambition and much anticipation," said Tuchel.

Chelsea were ninth in the Premier League and without a win in five games when Tuchel was appointed at the start of the year.

The German has won 19 of his 30 games in charge, with five defeats, and led the Blues to a 1-0 victory against Manchester City in Porto on 29 May to secure the club's second Champions League title.

"When Thomas joined us in January, there was still so much to play for domestically and in Europe. He slotted in seamlessly and immediately became an integral part of the Chelsea family," said Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia.

"Returning us to the top four in the Premier League was crucial, and we could not be happier with our success in the Champions League, which crowned a remarkable season at Chelsea."

SERGIO AGUERO has completed his free transfer to Barcelona and will be unveiled to fans on Monday evening.

The Argentine has been locked in talks with the Catalan side ever since announcing he would be leaving Manchester City on a free.

Both parties have been eager to keep an official announcement under wraps while City were still competing in the Champions League.

But just 48 hours after their final heartbreak to Chelsea in Porto, Barca have wasted no time in announcing their high-profile arrival.

The club revealed his signing on Twitter with a painting of him wearing a Barcelona shirt.

Aguero has penned a two-year deal to team up with international compatriot Lionel Messi which includes an £86million buy-out clause.

A statement written on the club's website said: "FC Barcelona and Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero have reached an agreement for the player to join the Club from 1 July when his contract with Manchester City expires.

"The player will sign a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season and his buy out clause is set at 100 million euros.

"Kun' Agüero's presentation will take place on Monday."

Aguero couldn't produce a fairytale ending to his Man City career as he left the Champions League final field in tears.

But he leaves a City legend having departed as the club's record scorer with 260 goals in all competitions in 389 appearances.

Aguero also won 12 major pieces of silverware including five league titles.

Eagle-eyed Barcelona fans noticed the deal was confirmed before the announcement due to a blunder on the club's website.

PREMIER LEAGUE games will welcome up to 10,000 supporters inside stadiums for the final two rounds of fixtures.



Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed the news as lockdown restrictions continue to ease from May 17.



In his press conference, he said: "From Monday 17 May indoor hospitality can reopen and indoor entertainment can resume, including cinemas, museums, and children’s play areas.



"All remaining outdoor entertainment can reopen, such as outdoor cinemas and performances.



"Some larger events will be able to take place, including conferences, theatre and concert performances, and sports events. Restrictions on the number of attendees will remain as set out in the Roadmap."



It is also good news for the rest of the EFL, with fans allowed in for the play-off finals.





The penultimate set of Prem fixtures includes a potential top-four decider between Leicester and Chelsea while Man City fans will likely see their future champions at home to Everton on the final day.



Wembley had already welcomed 8,000 fans inside for Manchester City's Carabao Cup final win over Tottenham as part of a test pilot scheme.



The weekend prior, 4,000 supporters were in attendance as Leicester beat Southampton to reach the FA Cup final.



And the news could also have an impact on the final venue for the Champions League final.



The scheduled venue in Istanbul has now been ruled out because of a renewed Covid wave in Turkey.



Talks between Uefa are now looking at the potential of hosting the final in either Portugal or Wembley on May 29.



As SunSport revealed, Uefa wants guarantees that media, broadcasters, VIPs from around the football world and sponsors will be allowed to enter the UK without strict quarantine requirements.



While visitors would be allowed to attend Wembley for training and press conferences and the match itself, they would be confined to hotel quarters for the rest of their stay and not allowed out to sight-see.



But that is a serious sticking point for Euro chiefs, who are pressing for restrictions to be lifted.

HARRY MAGUIRE looks set to miss Manchester United’s final four Premier League games in his race against time to be fit for the Europa League final.





The United skipper, although hopeful of being fit for the Villarreal clash, is awaiting the results of an scan after suffering an ankle injury on Sunday against Aston Villa.





Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will do everything possible to get Maguire ready for the May 26 final against the Spanish side in Poland.





And this means Maguire will miss Tuesday’s home game with former club Leicester and Thursday’s clash with Liverpool.





He is also unlikely to feature against Fulham next Tuesday or Wolves on the final day of the season on May 23.





Maguire is determined to win his fitness race but if the scan results show a problem, he will have to ensure he is ready for Euro 2020.
