About the company,


Founded last year, this indigenous firm specializes in the processing of locally sourced agric produce as a way of providing an alternative access to market for local farmers while meeting the needs of the end user by providing them with ready-to-use goods to meet specific needs. Since its inception, it has been the winner of numerous awards locally and internationally.


About the Role


This is a newly created role. The responsibilities include:

- oversee the production process, drawing up a production schedule;

- ensure that the production is cost effective;

- decide what resources are required;

- estimate costs and set the quality standards;

- monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed;

- be responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment;

- monitor product standards and implement quality-control programmes;

- liaise among different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers;

- work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals;

- ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed;

- supervise and motivate a team of workers;

- review worker performance;

- identify training needs


About the person


Qualifications


At least a bachelors degree in any of the following subjects OR closely related subjects below is NECESSARY for you to get the job

- biochemistry;

- chemistry;

- food science/technology;

- Plant/Agricultural Science

- Biology


Skills

The following skills will be highly advantageous:

- planning and organisation skills to be able run and monitor the production process;

- the ability to act decisively and solve staff or equipment-related problems;

the capacity to grasp concepts easily;

- ICT literacy to deal with various technologies and programmes;

- attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality;

- the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with your team, managers and clients;

- strong negotiation skills for getting materials within budget and at the right time;

- the ability to work under pressure and motivate others to meet tight deadlines;

- the ability to work in a logical, systematic manner.


Other things to note:


- Age, Degree classification etc are not barriers. However, relevant work experience in this role/ field is very important

- Part time basis can be negotiated i.e Flexible work hours

- Salary Package is Negotiable

- Must be willing & possible to get to the factory at Ajah at short notice
