The Chief Supply Chain Officer, Unilever, Marc Engel, has reiterated the company’s pledge to enhance local manufacturing in Nigeria.
He was said to have stated this when he led a team from the company to visit the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Overseas Affairs and Investment, Prof. Ademola Abass.

A statement by the firm quoted Engel as saying that Unilever, which had been operating in Nigeria for over 90 years, would continue to invest in the country, notwithstanding the prevailing economic challenges.

He said, “Nigeria is strategic to our business operations. This is why we remain committed to the country’s socio-economic development. We currently operate two manufacturing hubs in Nigeria, and we are already taking actions to increase our local manufacturing capacity.
