FIRE INCIDENCE OCCURRED IN BIRNIN KEBBI POWER SUBSTATION

The incident occurred around 2.00am on Friday which led to two 7MVA transformers supplying power to Gwadangaji and Tudun Wada areas completely burnt.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu who visited the site while appreciating God that no life was lost during the incidence expressed concern over the inability of people from the affected communities to have power.He appealed to the power company to look for a way of finding a solution to the problem as soon as possible.

He also raised concern over the cost of the transformers, amounting to over N60 million each.

The Governor called on the people from the affected communities to be calm while efforts will be made to restore power, though he emphasized that such is the responsibility of the Kaduna DISCO.

The Technical Manager of the Station, Mr Dogara also assured that they will do their best to see that people in the affected areas are provided with power.

The Governor was accompanied by some government officials, including his political adviser who is also an engineer who has been supervising power projects in the State.
