Information reaching Versatile Reporters from a top
police source indicate that about 5 of the assassins
who killed port-harcourt based human rights
activist, Barrister Ken Atsuete, have been arrested
by the Nigerian Police Force.
The source further said they have made confessional statements of mind-blowing proportion implicating some top politicians in the state.
Due to the high profile nature of the matter and the
various interests surrounding it, the assassins,
including the one who pulled the trigger are believed to be currently cooling off in the force's headqua
rters in Abuja. The Officers of the IG's Monitoring
Unit were responsible for this arrest.
The police two weeks after the death of the renowned lawyer had raised an alarm over what was termed mounting pressures from the Rivers State Government to release Two of the suspected assassins that were earlier arrested.
Recall that Barr.Ken Atsuete, a strong critic of the :Pcurrent administration in Rivers State was gruesomely murdered on August 28, 2016 by unknown gunmen.
