The Federal Government on Tuesday appointed two new Directors for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN.

The newly appointed directors are Mrs. Nike Aboderin, who is now the new Director of Finance and Accounts (DFA), and Mr. Sadiku Abdulkadir Rafindadi, the new Director of Commercial and Business Development (DCBD).

The new appointees replaced some recently sacked directors of the agency.

In the shake-up, some Directors were forcefully retired, while most of the General Managers were demoted. 22 senior staff were affected.

The Head of the Civil service of the federation had earlier ordered a comprehensive audit of FAAN.

Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, Ag. General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, in a statement, said Mrs. Nike Aboderin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB).

She holds an M.Sc degree in Banking and Finance of the University of Lagos. She has over 23years experience in the financial services industry and an Advanced Management Programme (AMP) graduate of Lagos Business School.
She also holds a post graduate certificate in Global Strategic Management (GSM) of the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.

She is married with children.

Mr. Sadiku Abdulkadir Rafindadi is a 1985 graduate of Economics of the University of Pittsburgh.

He holds an MBA in Finance of Clark Atlanta University, USA. He attended Kaduna Polytechnic, where he obtained Certificates in Management Studies.

Rafindadi is also a seasoned Manager and until his current appointment, has worked in several Management capacities in different institutions, including, Phoenix Investment Services and British Petroleum.

He is married with children.

I hope that the director of commercial and business development would not be as corrupt as previous ones..especially the last one that retired voluntarily.

By the way, were these positions advertised?

Useless government

yes i think i remember Rafindadi, he was mishandled immediately IBB came in because of the role the SSS (NSO at that time) played against IBB under Buhari govt. what a life, over 30 yrs ago. Buhari carelessly allowed IBB take over without a shot fired and IBB now destroyed Nigeria. it was after IBB that corruption now became stronger than our constitution

what's the difference ?

you sack appointees and appoint some other ones, isn't that vendetta ?

there are many experienced folks on the job who have all the qualification these new ones has

the question is where are these ones coming from ?
what will happen to the GMs that are due for promotions ?

You must be talking about Alhaji Lawan Rafindadi ,head of the NSO in Buharis first regime which ended in 1985.The SSS was born by Babangida in 1986.
by the way the name Rafindadi is quite common in the north.I personally appreciate your memory though even tho e show say we don old

Abi o! I wonder why they were not advertised . It's so sad how things work in this country. First of all, the underlying issue here is that things are too centralized in this country. You don't have the federal govt hiring and firing people who run airports in majority of advanced countries.

In addition to that, Ministerial positions in states should not be appointed by the governor, they should be elected by the people during elections. The police commissioners, inspector generals, state ministers of finance, justice, of should all be elected along with other public officials like the governor and president.

What is even sad is that when this guy loses, PDP would come back again and instead of focusing on governance they would turn on there enemies in the other party. Nigeria deserves much better than both parties.
