- first of all, I would suggest that you type and search KELOIDS on this nairaland forum. A lot of people have written on this and you'll find a lot of great advice on this topic here on nairaland.

- You'll notice that a lot of people have mentioned ''ORA EREE / PYTHON FAT'' . My brother that's the best solution u can get for Keloids. It may be slow, but it works like magic.
It is painless and easily affordable.
The only issue u may have is getting the ORIGINAL PYTHON FAT (after all, how easy is it to get a python and kill)

- Pls, avoid any cuts on it again, also if u can avoid injecting it with kenalog injection (read up the disadvantages of kenalog injection, so U'll understand better.

- I received treatment for a Keloid on my cheek like 2 yrs ago in ibadan, and in 2 months, the Keloid became history, although I had a scar left there. The place is called GILEAD beauty care located in a shopping complex at GATE. if you're interested, you can give them a call on 08032067212 and 08039459691

+ Get a clean hair shave at all time (gori mapa)
+ Polish your head with anointing oil (olive oil)
+ Get married (that reduces the burden of being shy with the opposite sex)
+ You have to live with the scar for the rest of your life.

If u had used python oil it would not hv formed. Had cut on my forehead n applied python oil. Try it n see if it might still work

Book ur ticket when u have emergency to.go clean ur wounds outside nigeria. ...i have had.incedencies of errors in the US which was thought to be pile but was discovered to be cancer here in Nigeria..the operation in the us was mis diagnosis. ...so leave that story. .lets use our good mouth to say good things about ourselves and our people.....

Ok I hear you . If you have the funds and means of going abroad for medical treatment ,then you can choose to be patriotic and make use of Nigeria hospitals and doctors .

@ Westfield : I agree with you that he shouldn't cut the Keloid again, else it it would grow bigger

But I totally disagree with you that there is no cure for Keloids - afterall, my own case of Keloid on being treated in ibadan within 2 months is an example .

Also I've read a lot on ayurvedic (in india) having cures for Keloids with just the use of creams called AGNIJITH BALM. U can google this too (agnijith balm for Keloids)

You also noticed that a lot of people recommended the ''ora Eree'' (PYTHON fat)...... I believe there's wisdom in a multitude's advice.

So, pls if u do see any python, do not run away, simply stand like a warrior, fight and kill it........ U now realise it's a gold mine

I had it in 1998.I'll teach you the art and science of shaving.Keloids or bumps are occasioned by poor shaving methods.Now, I even get away with murder of some sort, because I shave with blunt blades.But, because I know the science behind it, I don't get any bumps.

You did not answer my questions at all. I really do not know what you mean by robust? That is a nebulous word.

Funny but you said best advice was surgery + radiotherapy now it is leave alone. I don't know what qualifies you to offer BEST advice which by the way you change daily. Any responsible doctor will offer an OPINION with INFORMATION. Yes I agree that he should leave it alone but that is just my opinion.I cannot see on what basis you are offering best advice

'Robust' is an English word. There's substantial amount of information on Wikipedia on keloids and treatment methods.

The OP seems hell-bent on surgically removing the Keloid. I gave him advice I distilled from Wikipedia on the best option to prevent recurrence after surgery, with the expectation that a Medical doctor would provide the final word.

I also took pains to tell him to leave the Keloid alone.

Surgery option? Best advice to follow up with additional treatment (Radiotheraphy, from what I could glean) to prevent or minimize the risk of recurrence.

Recommended advice? Don't risk surgery.

This seems simple enough to follow.

I think if you put aside this undue belligerence and aim for comprehension, you'd be less susceptible to confusion.

Please try not to say things you do not know much about. This is a medical situation, do not dismiss procedures about which you have no knowledge.

Radiotherapy, specifically Superficial Radiotherapy (SRT) after surgical excision is the best treatment for keloids. The only problem is that I would not advise anyone to do the surgery here in Nigeria.

If you can afford it, go to the USA or the UK. Even South Africa or Dubai. Use a good plastic surgeon, once the keloid is removed, you will do 3 days of SRT treatment, it is completely painless and lasts only a few minutes per session. The SRT does not penetrate beyond a few millimetres of your skin and it completely destroys all the cells in the area, including hair cells if any. The it gives the skin a completely new lease of life.

SRT was developed for treatment of cancer, they only stumbled on the fact that it is extremely effective for curing keloids about 2 years ago, and it is the number 1 method for treating keloids in the US now.
