The Way People Conceive the Sunni-Shia Matter is Very Wrong

The religion of Islam which Allah sent the messenger with alyhissolaat wassalaam is one, but the people deviated from the true and pristine Islam giving themselves new and foreign ideologies.

The misguidance of shism is just one of many other misguidances though it's arguably the worst of all deviant sects.

These new deviant sects varied in their deviation from the Quran and sunnah. The worst of these ideologies are the shia, jahmiyyah and those who claim that they have another prophet such as the Qodiyaanis popularly known as the ahmadis.

Others include the khawarij which people refer to today as 'extremist Muslim sects' they recklessly declare people as disbelievers and spill their blood. Jabata and his followers in ilorin are also a subset of the khawarij sect except that they don't kill but they share the same basic ideology of calling people disbelievers.

The murji'ah, the mu'tazilites, ashaa'irah, maaturidiyyah, sufiyyah and the partisans who keep breaking into pieces forming new jamaa'at such as TMC, OTM, ikhwanul muslimeen etc are all examples of the deviant sects.

The major sign of partisans is that they love and hate based on the constitution and laws of their party even if it contradicts the Quran and sunnah according to the interpretation of the righteous predecessors.

I heard of a party which refused to allow the Imam of the town to pray on a dead Muslim? Why? They said this is the corpse of so and so Islamic organization or society, subhanaLLaah!!!

Those who remained on the Quran and sunnah are the Ahlu sunnah and their creed never changed over the centuries because the truth never changes.

The messenger alyhissolaat wassalaam said:

Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba:

The Prophet said, "A group of my follower swill remain predominant (victorious) till Allah's Order (the gentle wind which will take the soul of the believers) comes upon them while they are still predominant (victorious).
(Bukharee)

Unlike the deviants whose ideologies can be traced back to a particular person and a particular time. In fact those deviant ideologies have developed over time and changed and adjusted according to the whims and desires of their followers.

So, shia is just one of many other misguidances that the Ummah of Islam is battling with.

But why the Sunni or AhluSunnah or Salafi(yyah) 'tag'? why can't we just call ourselves Muslims?

For two reasons:

# Calling ourselves Muslims will mean that the deviants are not Muslims and therefore will be in hell forever. This contradicts the sunnah of our messenger alyhissolaat wassalaam, those deviant sects are sinners by deviating thus having right to Allah's punishment just like every other sinner except that their sins doesn't take them out of Islam except those whose deviations have reached the level of disbelief like the grave worshippers and the Sufi sheikhs who claim that they are exempted from observing Solah and Ramadan!

# Second reason is that the name Muslim is shared by everyone who associates himself to the messenger alyhissolaat wassalaam.
Both deviants and non Deviants. There's a need to identify the people of guidance from others just as Allah named us Muslims to separate us from other forms of deviation from the true religion of our father Adam.

May Allah increase us in beneficial knowledge and steadfastness upon the sunnah of the Prophet alyhissolaat wassalaam and understanding of the companions rodiyaLLaahu anhum and those who followed them.

JazakAllaah khayra for this wonderful read!

This hadeeth;

The Prophet said, "A group of my follower will remain predominant (victorious) till Allah's Order (the gentle wind which will take the soul of the believers) comes upon them while they are still predominant (victorious).
(Bukharee)

Is a direct retort for those who claim every group of Muslim has their evil and none is complete, so "pick the good out of every group and leave the evil".

This hadeeth shows that no matter how much deviant groups we have, some group of people will still be on the pristine Islam.

Aameen wa iyyaak bro
A good question to ask those people is: what I your criterion for recognizing good and evil?
