Splendid!! This is the best thing the Judiciary has done so far to checkmate the tyranical govt of Buhari and to stop the further use of propaganda by this govt.

Second will be to order all judges to throw out any FG case against alleged corrupt people until they start obeying court orders.

We cannot afford a man who has no secondary school certificate run down a hard fought democracy and freedom from military dictatorship!

You guys are calling for anarchy due to gross ignorance. Just wait for it.

So on the basis of this, even if the allegations are damning and evident, NJC wouldn't do anything?

DSS has not started molesting you people, una just start!!!

The way you and falana do your thinking is so abnormal.

So, even if you're a primary school boy, would you address your petition to the SAME person you are petitioning AGAINST?

The logic is simple and clear, my dear: when you petition NJC you don't send a copy of the petition to the accused judicial officer.

And again the policy made it clear that the petition can only be discarded or rejected if INVESTIGATION shows that it was leaked by the petitioners or their stakeholders. This is done for the sake of human rights which you guys unfortunately have no values for. But like or not, the policy is very consistent with the law which presumes the accused innocent until proven otherwise.

So you cannot go to the press with your unproven allegations and still hope to get the learned opinion of the NJC.

And, by the way, there's no perfect law or policy anywhere. So there's an exception to every rule, which often portends a loophole. It's normal. So you and your idle san should go and sleep.

RentALodge:
"The policy partly read, “lt shall be the policy of the judiciary on complaints that allegations of misconduct against judicial officers or employees of the judiciary shall not be leaked or published in the media.
“Where complaints on allegations against judicial officers and court employees are submitted for investigation, the complainant or complainants shall be made to give an undertaking not to do anything to prejudice investigation or actions that may be taken."
Therefore all that an accused judge needs to do to ensure that a charge is disregarded is just to get it published! Too many back doors created already!
!

We need a jury system in Nigeria, we shouldn't leave our destiny in the hands of cult like corrupt set of people called judges alone.

you see, many people on nairaland have a problem with understanding, that's why they are supporting this nonexistent fight against corruption.

you are fighting corruption and you are corrupt, an absolute waste of time. you are fighting corruption and you are shielding corrupt people in your cabinet, waste of time.

the judges know the fight against corruption is a charade, they are the ones handling the cases and they know its an insincere battle.

The corrupt executive is using its powers to attack its enemies under the guise of fighting corruption, to the extent of fighting judges that are not doing their bidding, by tagging them as corrupt and indeed they are corrupt. however, the corrupt judiciary is using its powers to protect itself from a corrupt executive. its a power tussle. and they get their powers from the same source, the constitution.

so, if the executive does not like what the NJC are doing, they should call for a constitutional review. but they can't do that because the northern executive does not want anything that would cause a shake up in the present scheme of things which favors the north over the south. that again is corruption, selfishness and insincerity.

so all this people shouting, 'jail them', 'vomit our yam', are just fooling themselves. which yam are they vomiting, the one EFCC is already struggling to swallow and clean mouth? just imagine. there is no hope for this country if things remain the way it is structurally and constitutionally, because the structure and constitution are products of greed, selfishness and insincerity, which all add up to the same CORRUPTION.

this should be clear for all to see, I wonder why most are not seeing it.

Everybody is flexing their muscle. Welldone. When go the wrong way, you cause a negative reaction. Media trial/propaganda, the tool of apc government will do the country no good. Where has the dictum that accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty gone to? Someone help me ask apc.
It isnt media trial, it is freedom of information and it is guaranteed by d constitution.

this funny rule means they have dirty lundry they want to hide. they are protecting themselves.

Waging war against the judiciary at a time that the president is neither in good working relationship with the legislature nor even mere party member; that's certainly the beginning of the end of Buhari dynasty.
How does this relate to d fact that d njc has shrouded itself in secrecy.

I rather think it marks the beginning of the end of people that think like you.
people that does not see anything good in their country, people that befriends any person charged with corruption.

I guess this is how to know the kids on nairaland, they begin their post with 'sharap there!'.

If the dss acted against the constitution that is to be determined by a court of competent jurisdiction, the accused judges can argue that in court and if d dss is wrong d court will say so. But that the njc is doing is just shameless. you dont fight for justice by hiding in secrecy.

I wonder if some of the people supporting this move would have the same opinion if it was the executive that enacted or even suggested that any petitions against members of the executive must not be leaked to the press/public? They would have run amok shouting that Buhari wants to gag the press blah, blah, blah.

Sadly, they think this is all about Buhari, until it comes to bite them in the ass.

Anyone still supporting the sinister moves of NJC these days does not love Nigeria. So why the cult-like secrecy? So what happened to the Freedom of Information Act? Why should the NJC be wary of media and public scrutiny?

Nigeria judiciary have never had it so bad.

Sorry for you.
You're advertising your ignorance in blue bold ink.
Why is there 'cult-like' secrecy for the juries?
Anyway, you chose to see what you want to see, but the reason is clearly there.

...to prejudice investigation or actions that may be taken....

That is what APC government thrives on. Propaganda, not fact. The NJC is simply telling them and their affliates not to pollute the judiciary with it because it is not healthy .

“Where such a leakage is occasioned after the submission of a complaint then all investigations on the complaints shall be suspended, the leakage investigated and if such leakage is from the complainant on through other parties known to such a complainant, such a complaint should be discarded.

Where do these judges think they are?
They must be taking us all for fools.

You are the unreasonable one here. Do you know how many petitions have been sent to EFCc concerning Amaechi and Fayemi?
How about the INEC REC that admitted to collecting bribe in Yobe but has not been charged by the govt because the bribe came from APc?
Or the 270m grass cleared in IDP. Or is it Buratai that can afford properties in Dubai worth 100yrs of his salary?
