My next book, Your Excellency, You Are A Liar shoud be ready in April by the infinite grace of God.

I have delayed the publication to give the President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo time to amend his ways. But he has become worse. So, I won't delay it again.

It is a collection of my serious articles and features on politics and current affairs in Nigeria and some other countries since June 2005 to date.

The book will be available in bookshops and sold by vendors in public in Nigeria.

I have posted on Seun's Nairaland on more popular Western forums and none of the administrators raised eye-brows.

After reading a few of your postings, I decided to give you the benefit of the doubt by checking out some of your written works. I have seen a number of your writings online and frankly, there is nothing particularly impressive to be seen.

I have noticed that you seem to enjoy blowing your trumpet. All I see everywhere is "I wrote an award winning essay at 13" or "I became a Unicef consultant at 25" or I did bla bla bla for NTA at 18. Big fu*king deal. GROW UP. If you are any good, you won't need to beat your own drums singing your praises, others will do it for you. We don't hear Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Reuben Abati and others go on and on tirelessly. If you are so convinced of your good works/deeds, keep doing them and posterity will reward you.

Oh and by the way, don't even dream of retorting with one of your favorite lines which go "what have you done in your life" or "you have not achieved what i have" or "you can't achieve in your lifetime what I achieved by 25" and so on and so forth. Cos man you don't want to know, and even if you do, I'll leave you to find out cos unlike you, I don't believe in self praise.

My advice to you is get your head out of your ars* cos you are nothing special mate.

I recommend you read Scarlet Tears of London in English and Spanish.

But, I am actually not satisfied with the number of books published so far.
Because, my best works have not been published.

But I believe I don't have to leave Nigeria.

I must say that I agree with SMC on this matter. Orikinla believes too much in self glorification. I will give one glaring example.  I was reading the eulogies written by different people for Anthony Fatayi-Williams (who lost his life in the July 7, 2005 bombings in London) . Everyone had something to say about the deceased e.g. how nice he was, how they met him, tributes e.t.c. I was shocked, dismayed and appalled when I saw that the very first sentence Orikinla deemed fit to write in his tribute was " I am a Nigerian prize-winning poet" (please see http://www.guardian.co.uk/attackonlondon/tributes/page/0,,1528744,00.html). This was in a eulogy to someone who had lost his life prematurely and all Orikinla could think about was to promote himself. To say that this was tacky, in bad taste and lacked decency would be putting it mildly. It just shows the kind of person Orikinla is. To be fair, I must say that he wrote a decent poem in tribute, but that was overshadowed by the fact that he saw it fit to glorify himself first.

Orikinla before you unleash your vituperation on me like you did with SMC (I was shocked by your arrogance, or was I?), I'd say save it for someone who gives a damn about you and your self-glorifying ways.

For all you people who have been referring to me as "elder" or "old", I BEG O. Because I said Reuben was in my class does not mean I am ancient. F.Y.I. Dr. Abati was in my class at the Lagos State University in the late 90's when he was doing his law degree. As you may or may not know he has quite a number of degrees as he has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge (so please be informed that I was not his class-mate in the 70s for that is the decade I was born). Also I am not a man o. I am a WOMAN.

@Ibkn, you don't need to hear about me. I do not thrive on attention seeking. Also I hope you do know that for every person you hear of, there are millions unheard of, unsung. However, the fact that they are not known does not make their role in life less important. I currently live in a country where people aspire and become famous for nothing or for infamous/outrageous acts. The sooner we rid ourselves of this trend, the better. Posterity will reward each one of us but it will not be in the same way.
