5. Most Consecutive FIFA Ballon D’or Awards.



Lionel Messi is not only player to win four Consecutive Ballon D’or Awards but also the only man to win them four years in a row—from 2009 to 2012. For this record to ever be replicated will not be easy.

4. Most goals in calendar year



Messi holds the record for most goals in all competitions for Club and country in a calendar year, having hit 91 in 2012 to beat Muller’s mark of 85, which had stood since 1972. Considering how long Muller’s record stood, it seems unthinkable that Messi’s record will ever be broken.

3. Only player to score in 6 different club competitions twice: 2011 and 2015



Messi became the only player to score in six different official club competitions in 2009, but his former Barcelona teammate Pedro Rodriguez joined him after the Spaniard did it in 2011. However, the Argentine great did it again in 2015 to become to only player to achieve this on two occasions, scoring in La Liga, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup, Copa del Rey and FIFA Club World Cup.
