Students Commend Nigerian Senate For Passing Sexual Harassment Bill Into Law by WetinhappenPR: 3:41pm On Nov 01, 2016
The female students community in the country has cemmended the Nigerian Senate for their ingenuity to unanimously pass the Sexual Harassment in Tertiary Institutions Bill into law. By this law, any randy lecturer sexually harassing a female student is liable to a 5-year jail term or a fine option of 5million naira.

Speaking at the National Students Mentorship Summit recently held in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, the National President, National Female Students Association of Nigeria, Comr. Idongesit Micah told the crowd that the Senate has responded to their plight of passing the Bill into law.

She however charged female Students to speak up when they are harassed and send the bad eggs of lecturers to jail.

She further lamented a greater number of students who are victimized for saying "NO" by randy lecturers.

She called on President Buhari to assent to the law. She also thanked Senator Ovie Omo Agege, for sponsoring the Sexual Harassment in Tertiary Institutions Bill and assured him of the female students' unalloyed support.
