Message To Governor Fayose - Macban Meeting In Ekiti by OPCNAIRALAND: 4:15pm On Nov 02, 2016
They have assured me that they are ready to cooperate, they have accepted the marshals. They only want to be part of the marshals so that they can equally enforce these laws with us because they know their people very well and they assured me that nobody among the herdsmen will go and use their cattle to feed on the farmlands and attack any of the citizens,” he told reporters after the meeting.

The Governor is commended for his pioneering efforts combating the menace of Fulani herdsmen in Ekiti. The Ekiti State Assembly is equally praised for passing the law in support of the Governor's initiative. When the news broke that movement of cows in and around Ekiti State will be regulated and grazing will only be permitted in designated areas there was elation and pride in Yorubaland. Many Yorubas see you as a vanguard against the wanton liberty of Fulani herdsmen to graze on private property and when challenged, to harm and cause irreparable damage to land and crop owners. We have identified you as a model and pointed to the anti-grazing law as a good economic and political policy that other aggrieved states ought to copy and implement.

Few days before their meeting with you MACBAN threatened your state, and beyond, implicitly referring to Yorubaland, with visitation of terrorism, an act which prompted Afenifere to respond with a counter warning that any attack on Ekiti will get a response from Yoruba.

Their meeting and conciliation with you is truly unappealing but in respect of Ooni's injunction to find a diplomatic means to address the friction we Yorubas welcome their visitation to you and commitment to respect and abide by the grazing law.

What we find repulsive, insulting and completely undesirable is the highlighted caption above, where they request to be part of the enforcement because they know their people better. What this translates to is that Yorubas cannot be trusted to police or enforce a law on Fulani, in Yorubaland.

They had plenty opportunity to self-police, they failed! So they have to be policed!

We therefore reject a request to hire Fulanis or members of MACBAN into the Ekiti grazing enforcement squad. Ekiti is a peaceful and religiously secular state that does not push one religion above another. Miyetti Allah is a praise to Allah and all other religions are viewed as infidels. This is the background into their request to join enforcement, "infidels cannot enforce a law over the followers of Allah". Governor, let's not sleep!

The MACBAN request to join enforcement must be rejected!

Yorubas love you and pray for you, you are wonderful!
