Japanese media has recenty reported a bizarre medical case, where an unnamed woman started fire in the middle of a complex operation.

The doctors were reporteldy performing a form of laser surgery on her cervix at the Tokyo medical university hospital, when something went wrong.

The woman was lying on the operational table surrounded by a team of medics when her body accidentally expelled some gas.

Well, this is funny on one hand but on the other hand...... It's actually not.

Farts are actually flammable. A typical fart comprises 21% Hydrogen, 59% Nitrogen, 7% methane, about 9% Carbon (IV) Oxide and so on... Even sulfur is found in farts in the form of mercaptans I believe.

The Hydrogen and methane gases in farts give Farts their flammable nature so it's no surprise this happened.

When there's a build-up of flammable gases in the intestines, such can happen even during surgery. This is why we have pre-operative consultations to set all things right so as to avoid anything going wrong. Probably the docs didn't carry out a comprehensive pre-ops check. So sad.

So in summary, farts are indeed flammable and here's a fun fact, if you fart continuously for about 6 years and 9-10months or so, you will produce gas the with the energy equivalence of an Atomic Bomb!!! Looollll #fact

So plsssss... It's natural to fart, in fact, on the average, humans fart like 10-14 times a day... But, Mind your farts.... wink
