The reconstituted Appeal Court panel led by Justice Ibrahim Salauwa, set up to hear cases arising from the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate tussle in Ondo, commenced hearing on Friday morning.

Wole Olanipekun SAN led Ife Adedipe SAN, Dayo Akinlaja SAN and 17 other lawyers to appear for Eyitayo Jegede and Clement Faboyede, while Bei Nwofor SAN, led 5 other lawyers to appear for Biyi Poroye and others, Nelson Anih for INEC, Ajibola Oluyede, for 11th respondent, the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP.

Olanipekun sought the Court permission to withdraw and discountenance the appeal CA/A/551A/2016 filed by Faboyede against Poroye/Ibrahim in October, which was not opposed by other respondents and subsequently dismissed by Justice Salauwa.

On the second appeal between Ahmed Markarfi and Biyi Poroye and others, after listening to argument by counsels, Justice Salauwa adjourned the case till Monday 7th November 2016 for further hearing.

Justice Salauwa equally adjourned till Monday 9am, the third appeal which is Eyitayo Jegede versus Biyi Poroye and others DESPITE Olanipekun insistence that the matter should be heard with the much needed acceleration in view of the urgency at hand.

The fourth appeal between Ahmed Markarfi versus Biyi Poroye was also adjourned.

No be next week again? I laugh... See, this was the same delay tactics that was used by Saraki to stall his trial at CCT and some people praised him and now Jimohs lawyer is using the same tactics and some people are no longer comfortable with it but want the case to given expeditious hearing and decided as fast as possible. You see what goes around comes around.

Jegede should take heart. His supporters are already lining up behind Oke so he better quit wasting his money on any fruitless litigation. Mimiko should have remained in LP instead of jumping ship to a sinking PDP.
