Why is it that it's only in nigeria that once a place is named the "CAPITAL", it means that the best infrastructures will be built there. Washington DC for example can not be compared to new york city, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston or Las Vegas even tough it's the capital of America.

I question why a big stadium wshould be built in Abuja. It has not sporting culture unlike Enugu, Ibadan, Aba, Lagos, PH. Just imagine the crowd that come to the Abuja stadium to watch the Nigerian team play. Despite the fact that the home team is playing, the crownd is simply picayune when compared to the ones in Enugu, lagos, kano, calabar, Ijebu Ode.

It would have been better if that stadium had been built in a place like Onitsha, Warri, Enugu, Aba, Abeokuta, Oshogbo, even though some of this places don't have much sporting culture but the crowd will not be mediocre i bet you.

ROME(Italy) :You mentioned Rome owning a stadium. Why didn't you mention that Rome is the most populous city in Italy and that they have a world class team called AS ROMA.

All the cities you mentioned all have professional teams and have great sporting cultue.

Does Abuja have a club?

The stadium cannot even be filled up even when the supper eagles plays.

The stadium in abuja was built for the all africa games in 2003, and abuja does have a football club, but they dont play at the national stadium. the stadium wasnt filled up main becuase its the u-17, but the stadium was filled to the max when nigeria's national team played kenya and tunisia.

Nationals park, RFK stadium, the verizon center and many more sports venues are owned by the district of columbia or The DC Sports and Entertainment Commission, an independent agency of the District of Columbia government. the government also owns state runned college venues.

AS Roma play in the Stadio Olympico but it was reconstructed for the 1960 olympics

thats because of centralization, Abuja is the capital and it deserves to show the world what Nigeria is..
