Aruna Kadiri: The Relocated NANS Secretariat Remains In AAU Until....... by akolo321: 3:01pm On Nov 05, 2016
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has stated that the relocated secretariat will remain in Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State, until the ongoing discussions over hike of School fees is concluded, which the association said must be in favour of the students.

NANS, the apex umbrella of Nigerian students both home and in abroad, took this decision in view of what they described as “being taken for granted due to our peaceful nature” after the management of the school failed to honour a rescheduled meeting.

According to the association president, Comr. Aruna Kadiri, “My Secretary General, Comr. Harrison Ogiemwonrie went ahead with a team of students to AAU and met no management staff”. He further described the meeting boycott as a “direct confrontation of NANS and a deliberate attempt to test our might”.

“The management of AAU should be informed that we are coming in our numbers to the school on Monday to address the issues. Also, the relocated NANS secretariat remains in Ambrose Alli University until all our demands are granted,” he added.

Recall on Friday October 14th, in pursuance of NANS charter for qualitative and affordable education for Nigerians following the unjustifiable hike of school fees, President Aruna Kadiri visited the school where he held a meeting with the school' management.

However, it was until the temporary relocation of NANS secretariat to AAU last week that management succumbed to pressure. They agreed that while discussions were ongoing, the affected students (200l) are advised to suspend the payment of school fees for now, pending the final conclusion of discussions.

AAU in the special release signed by the Deputy Registrar, Information/PRO, Mr Edward U. Aihevba, stated that, there was a plea by NANS that the school fees regime of the affected students be looked into.

The Aruna Kadiri-led NANS is insisting that the “school fees should and must go back to Status Quo”.

... An Injury to one is an Injury to all!

The time is Now! It is Operation #FeeMustFall

Until man dies, the struggle continues...

Viva Aluta...
