'Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities',
chaired by Senator Frank Church (D-ID). (informally known as the Church Committee,
now replaced by modern the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence)

others. It was revealed that the CIA planted stories in the media, through the help
of paid agents working as news anchors.
