As the Premier League breaks for two weeks of international football, the top two teams in England right now are Liverpool and Chelsea. Jurgen Klopp’s charges are top of The EPL following an amazing performance against Watford which ended in a 6-1 victory. Right behind the Reds, one place below and one point behind, are Chelsea, who thrashed Everton 5-0 on Saturday. So which team has a better chance of winning the league?
This doesn't in any way suggest that other teams are being underrated or their chances of winning the EPL are being undermined. Apart from being the top 2 teams in the league, Liverpool and Chelsea also have a slight advantage over their title rivals - They are not playing European football thanks to their 9th and 10th respective league positions at the end of last season. So having only the league to concentrate on is another reason why the two clubs are discussed here.
Dissecting the issue on BBC radio, Stoke midfielder, Charlie Adam made the case for Chelsea to be favourites over Liverpool. His argument boiled down to Antonio Conte having the better backline. He says Liverpool's inability to keep clean sheets could be their undoing.
