Edo Leaders Vow To Resist Attempt To Remove Oyegun by Jirate(m): 3:56am On Nov 11, 2016
BENIN CITY—THE Concerned Edo Leaders of Thought, CELT, yesterday described as arrant nonsense, the call for the removal of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, asserting that it would resist any attempt to force the former Permanent Secretary out of office.

While declaring their support for Chief Oyegun, the group declared that those calling for his resignation were doing so based on their selfish interest and not because the APC national chairman had not performed.

In a statement signed by the President of the group, Col Paul Ogbebor (rtd), made available to Vanguard, described the allegation that Chief Oyegun compromised in the Ondo governorship primaries of the APC as untrue “and they cannot force the chairman out of office through amorphous organizations who are peddling lies.

“Nigerians are aware that no one can be blamed for the current problems besetting the APC and indeed the nation’s economy. To do otherwise is an attempt to give a dog a bad name in order to hang it.”

The statement added that those agitating for the removal of Odigie-Oyegun over the Ondo primaries should have explored the constitution of the party “and not through the papers just to tarnish the image of a man who has worked so hard to keep the party together.

The group further urged the leaders of the party including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to join hands with the chairman to return the party “to the path of constitutionalism as opposed to the rule of one godfather and his collaborators by learning to channel their grievances through appropriate channels for redress.”

Oyegun lacks the political adroitness to manage the disparate interests in the APC. His poor handling of the crisis in the Ondo state chapter of the party has unambiguously exposed his leadership ineptitude. He needs to be axed if the APC hopes to remain united.

The Northerners believe only in themselves, take it or leave it.

If Buhari could rise against Tinubu, then who is Oyegun?

The truth is that Bubu will use Oyegun and DUMP him soon, what goes round, comes round. grin

no one can handle the greed and power hungry nature of Tinubu. even if oyegun is replace by someone else there will still be problems because Tinubu will always want to lord it over everyone in the party and that will lead to problems.

You guys should stop blaming him, he is acting a script. He has no choice than to align with PMB's choice. If he had gone against it, maybe EFCC or DSS would have been on his neck now. Remember he is not clean so nailing him will not be difficult.

So, how did bubu "rise against Tinubu"?

Forget talk, every human is after their own interests and theirs only? Do you have an idea how many Northerners have been trampled upon by the elites in their quest for power?

Or you mean to tell me that those defending Oyegun here do so out of genuine concern and not because he's is from the same state as them?

The assertion that Northerners care about only themselves doesn't really hold true.
Re: Edo Leaders Vow To Resist Attempt To Remove Oyegun by kenben: 9:33am On Nov 11, 2016
Let's face it, oyegun has done a much better job of leading the ruling party than the PDP ever did when they held sway. Odigie-Oyegun kept the flag flying despite the crisis is certain chapters of the party. No party anywhere in the world is devoid of internal wrangling. But oyegun has held on. Tinubu is not God and has no right to dictate to everybody. When I hear of oshiomole replacing oyegun, I laugh out loud. That would signal the end of the APC.
