The National Stadium in Lagos was one of the major centres used for the U-20 World Cup, tagged "Nigeria ‘99", and even hosted the final match between Spain and Japan. Ten years later, however, the focus of attention seems to have shifted to the other side of the road, wherein is situated another stadium - the Teslim Balogun Stadium,

But something begs the question:

Which slowpoke thought it a good idea to build 2 publicly-owned stadia across the road to each other?

Similar morons have more than one world class stadia in madrid,liverpool,manchester,London(can't count). the problem in nigeria is with football administration not stadia . . . duh ! tongue

Yes. the fact they are public(national = Federal,Teslim = Lagos govts) boils down to administration. We have enough fans to run proper league system & stadia in Nigeria.
